If we ever are going to challenge teams for the promotion places we can't have players like Tymon, Brown and Thompson in our first 11. If we have there won't be enough quality to get promotion. They are hard workers, but not good enough to be regular starters. They could be stop gaps for a short period, but only one at the time! ......................Davies...................... New right back...collins..Souttar.......Fox........ .......................Mikel....................... ...............Allen...........Powell.............. Campbell............New striker........Dougthy.... Subs; Bursik, Coates, Edwards, Jones, Batth, Forrester, Thompson, Etebo or New midfielder, New winger, Fletcher, Norton, Brown. Offload: Wimmer, Bauer, Badou, Woods, Gregory, Sørensen, Gunn, Chester, Smith, RND, Clucas, Ince, McClean, Vokes. What would be the point of offlaoding Sorensen? He can in no way be blamed for our current state of affairs. Meanwhile you want o offload the 8-10 players we have wanted to offload for the 6 or more transfer windows without any success. So what makes you think we would succeed this year?

Sørensen hasn't even been a regular for a mid table team in the division below, and he is not that young any longer. If he was good enough he should at least be able to play regularly for a league one club in my opinion.

If you want to offload 10+ players who are under contract you're going to have to pay off their contracts which scfc, or any club, can hardly afford to. In order to pay off such large sums you will have to, bizarrely, sell one or more of our best players, is that really what you want. I think you're being unfair on Sorensen. It's not his fault the management changed their policy. But the fact that a young talented player cannot get a game while on loan is precisely why I am essentially against loaning out our young prospects. Because frequently the socalled opportunity turns into lack of opportunity, and then when Norton, Coates et al return next year what scfc gets is a broken player.

I know it's not easy to get rid of many of our unwanted players, but I still would like to see them go. For some of them who have just one year left in their contracts it could be easier as they can have the freedom to sign a contract with another club stretching some years ahead. The problem is to offload the players where we need a reasonable fee to break even due to FFP. Still I think players like Gregory, Lindsay, Gunn, Sørensen, Woods and McClean must be possible to get rid of. I guess Cousins will go as well just because we can release him. We desperately need to trim the squad to bring in some quality players, unless we will be in for a very hard and long season I'm afraid. A new first choice striker, a winger and another creative midfielder is a must I think. If possible also a new right back if Coates can't make the step.

I've never claimed to have the solution, magical or otherwise. Neither have I, just what I want or hope will happen! So it falls to me to tell you it won't happen. If there was a sensible solution, the board or some representatives for them would have found it and implemented it. But they have to be very careful not to set precedents, which could potentially, or, should I say very likely will come to haunt the club for years to come. If they just pay off the amount of players you mentioned (just for now pretending that ffp doesn't exist) then any future player that in some way falls out of favour can sit back and collect his full wages or his pay off doing nothing. In any future conflict the player/his agent can just point to what the club did in 2021 and say we want the same.

This is why I think it will be difficult to turn down a decent bid for one of our rising stars. I honestly think several of the players I've mentioned would like a chance somewhere else. Wimmer has expressed he doesn't want to come back, but due to FFP I think we still need to recoup around £3M, which won't happen of course! Woods at Millwall would like to stay there as well, but due to FFP we need a fee of around £1.5M which Millwall won't pay. Anyway these players want to go, but we can't let them unless we bring in some money from sales, but then it's possible with some of them despite having good contracts for a remaining year at Stoke.

We shouldnt expect to make major money from sales, because every potential buyer will know the state of the art, which is we need to sell. But we can't give Bauer, Badou et al away just like that, however tempting it may be. In a year we can and so we can start the countdown to a new and better life without the trash! It's a long count though...

If anyone wants an example of why we've finished where we have, look no further than the fact he's played 24 games this season. The reality is that this is 24 too many.
