One very much for the Millenials a semi-pro team called Hashtag United. I think they made the later rounds of the FA Cup prelims this year.

Shepshed Charterhouse a top non league side of my youth had a great name, they unfortunately got into financial difficulties and reformed as Shepshed Dynamo. Shepshed Dynamo are a great club whose fans have some wonderful songs in their repertoire. One of their best "If you like it up the Butthole clap your hands" just to explain......Their ground is on Butthole Lane Reminds me of Leyton Orient's ode to their pocket-sized midfielder Dean Cox... "we've got tiny Cox"

Another one in the U.K - Inverurie Loco Works Football Club
Wiki says:
Inverurie Loco Works Football Club are a part-time senior professional football club from Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, who currently play in the Scottish Highland Football League (SHFL).
The club was founded in 1903 by workmen from the Great North of Scotland Railway (GNSR) who had their Locomotive, and Carriage and Wagon Workshops in Inverurie, hence from where the football club got its name.

Our own history originates in the Charterhouse school doesn’t it. Not a “school team” as such obviously Was imagining, with the penchant for wanting the old boys back,if we should hook the transfer team up with the Genesis boys then. ’Big’ Mike Rutherford in the middle, Phil ‘in the air tonight’ in the To Mince roll and, er, the other one being anonymous on the right. Quids in if we get Marillion to sit in front. The " other one" is Tony Banks. With a surname like that he'd be in goal, obviously 😁

Several in Chile
Everton de Viña del Mar - The club was founded 24 June 1909 after a group of Anglo-Chilean teenagers formed a football club and named it after the English team Everton who had recently completed a pioneering tour of South America.
O'Higgins F.C. - Founded in 1955, the club was named in honour of the country's founding father and supreme director Bernardo O'Higgins, after the merger of the clubs O'Higgins Braden and América de Rancagua.
Santiago Morning - The club was founded in 1903 when Santiago established its own association of football thanks to the management of Santiago College's students on 19 October, under the name of Santiago Football Club. Three days later, the club played his first game against the teacher's team. Years later, the club was one of Primera División de Chile founder teams in 1933, being the first team on play a Chilean top-tier professional match against Audax Italiano. In 1936, the club was renamed with current name of Santiago Morning, after the merger between Santiago Football Club and Morning Star. During the 1930s, the club was one of the most popular teams in Chile.

I once saw them get beat I think it was 6 or 7-0 at Sheffield FC, their fans were singing throughout, and cheered every pass and tackle until the end, cheered their players off the pitch....something to learn there!!! For the last 5 minutes they were singing 'Next goal wins'!

South Africa had a couple of clangers. The one that always made me smile was "Dangerous Darkies"! Amongst the other crazy names I always thought "Zulu Royals" was a cool name but I never could get my head around "Real Katlehong City" or the optimistically named "Winners Park" (yes, they never won a thing).

Keith should play Barry in a pre season friendly every year. I wonder if we could have a campaign to arrange for Dull (Perth, Scotland) to play Boring (Oregon, USA). I think they are actually twinned. Or do we have enough of such matches already.

Civil Service Strollers Great pub quiz round is to list Scottish team names and ask which city/town they're based in - Raith Rovers, Queen of the South, Ross County, Albion Rovers, Cove Rangers, Partick Thistle etc. Not S***housemuir obviously!

Civil Service Strollers Seeing Linlithgow Rose reminds me that a lot of Scottish amateur sides have flowers in their name. I used to play for Auchterarder Primrose, Bob Wilson was the Honorary President (he wasn't but he should've been!) You've also got Whitehill Welfare who basically turn up every Saturday, get paid then blow it all on smack and Buckie... Edit: I think Bon Accord were actually a cricket team, hence the drubbing.
