Could be a private funeral, because of the restrictions. Must be a private funeral because of the restrictions, I recently went to a 30 max family funeral why should this be any different? Its not and it won't be, he didn't want all the fuss anyway.

For his service to the country, which our royal family do for nothing more than lots of money and power We are blessed. Yeah he only fought in WW2 on top of all the royal stuff as well. He’s done more than any of us will. As did millions of others, none of which get a media blackout when their deaths happen. He's put on a pedestal for having served in WW2 for one reason only, he is royalty. People still die in combat and we don't even hear about it and it's because they're normal, working class people. I'm not like popping the champagne that a royal is dead or anything, instead i'm incredulous in the response that it's seen from the media.

How sad that the death of a 99 year old man still brings out the bitterness and attention seeking in some by running the chap down.

A bit of a piss take of the coverage for sure but who's knocked him down? There's a bit to go at if people wanted to have a knock but I haven't seen anyone do so on here.

I have never understood Americans’ love affair with the British royal family especially given the fact the revolution arose as a result of our objection to paying taxes to the King without representation in parliament. However, based on the past four years I am not sure we have come up with an better alternative. Fortunately we can show them the door after four years if they piss off enough people.

In fairness pal, I think he has been fairly restrained, and thankfully left his out dated views to himself. Personally I dont think any sport should be cancelled, it would just fuel resentment and cause division. Will be different for QE2 though, as protocol says a period of national mourning , possibly a week, will take place.

15 hours of continuous coverage on the three biggest channels for the death of a 99 year old man is utterly insane. I get that he meant something to some people and there is a respect thread on the madhouse next door but this is barmy, talk of cancelling sport is barmy. If they cancel The Wall tomorrow I'm writing a fucking letter! Somehow I don’t think big Phil would have wanted sport cancelled. As for the Wall I prefer the Dale Winton version. “Bring on the Waaaaaaallllllllll!” Warw. Is I woight, or is it wong you facking cant.

I remember when JFK died there was no TV or radio in the UK for ages. Just solemn music and a blank screen on TV. It was a sign of respect.
When Her Majesty finally passes away I suspect all media will be cut off other than those broadcasting the news. It would be no surprise if the internet isn’t cut off during the period of mourning.

Well with Northern Ireland on fire. The most corrupt government in decades. 50% less trade with our largest trading block and another mess with communication on the roadmap to "normal". Boris will be able to put on a black tie and hide behind this for two or three weeks and shuffle a load more shit stories to the middle of the papers. Meanwhile people watch re-runs of the 1960s royal tours of Trinidad and Tobago and listen to Nicholas Witchell droaning on. Takes the collective minds off the shit-show for a while. Nothing 'corrupt' about the government you bell end. Incompetent, yes, glacially slow to react to the current situation, maybe. But corrupt, come on, silly comment.

Yeah, nothing to see here Par for the course mate, name me a government that hasn't been doing similar. All the anti tory cry babies who can't come to terms with the fact that the commie corbyn didn't win and his mates influence (Blair who should keep his head down and count himself lucky he is not up on international war crimes in the hague) counted for nothing, let's not start on Campbell and his people's vote lol. Give it up, this fringe thinking of labour and the lefties isn't going to work.

Not getting pissy, just saying no government in the history of our isle is squeaky clean, either side of the political divide. But what I can say as someone who lives in Japan is that the british governments response to vaccination is admired the world over, we here have not even finished vaccinating the healthcare workers, no ordinary folk have received the vaccine yet.

They did but his service to this country has been massive in several ways. Service! Please list. After his family was kicked out of Greece they had more sense than us, he has had a pampered life mostly at my, and your, expense. If you were happy to pay for it I certainly wasn't. I don’t like paying for rehabilitation of drug offenders, child molesters, rapists and murderers, families that consist of 10 kids who are left free to trash places while their parent(s”) spend their hard earned welfare receipts in Witherspoons, which actually cost me more than the Royal Family.

Hey if you want to go around calling someone a "bellend" who actually lives in the country in question and is an actual taxpayer and a bit closer to seeing the corrupt nature of the redistribution of wealth from the exchequer to friends, school mates and colleagues. I'd be armed with a better argument next time and counter evidence to argue against and why acquaintances of Matt Hancock, Michael Gove at. al. were all in for billions of pounds of ordinary folks money, even though they were start ups with no experience of PPE manufacturer. Texts from old Etonian Cameron to the current chancellor asking for "special favours". A man who promised Murdoch favours in return for the backing of the media. The same media that hacked Millie Dowler's phone. Even the prime minister washed through London taxpayers money to get a blow job from his American "friend", had his own political party pay for a defence lawyer for a future PM challenge. Despite the fact he clearly lied about their four year relationship and the "business loan" he arranged for her. I could go on and on. "having or showing a willingness to act dishonestly in return for money or personal gain" Yep corrupt is the right word you puddled fucker.
