They drive surprisingly nice, well I think they do anyway, into drive and away you go. The transition between engine, full electric and mix of the 2 is seamless and without the little indicator on the dash you otherwise wouldn't know sometimes. Fantastic technology but I get why some find it boring. It's all about how you drive these cars, I've had hybrids on and off for years now and I've learnt a lot about braking, lifting off the throttle and how to keep it in full electric for longer etc Which improves the overall mpg. Despite being winter I currently get 68mpg and that's all town driving and short distances because of Covid. I'd love the plug in hybrid to get even more battery power but the prices are insane How much are they ?

I went for Manhattan Grey That was my second choice, and almost ended up with one. I got the Touring Sport. £25,000 it cost...Decent discount. Yeah, same, mine was £27,000 I think. They did say that they couldn't produce a manhattan grey at first so I chose obsidian blue but then they said they could.

That's before the cost of the fast charger I think as well

There was loads that I could have selected... Audis, Mercs, BMW, Golf, but I went for a "less desirable" car because a) I need something a bit bigger and b) the spec of the corolla is "top of the range" whereas the others were more basic specs. I spend that much time sat in the thing I want it to sing and dance for me. But the more I look at it online and hear what people say about it, the more I'm really happy I picked that

Been trying to source a new company car myself for about 6 months. I'm well overdue (126k miles and counting) but not able to view anything due to the showroom closures. The car tax rises over the last few years has completely screwed me - I'm actually taking home 10% less money now than I was 5 years ago. My additional problem is I need a large 4x4 type vehicle due to the size and weight of samples transported and the fact I have to go onto building sites regularly and live down a pretty awful country lane. Full electric is a no no due to price and range and self charging hybrids don't really offer much of a tax incentive so I am looking at a plug in hybrid 4x4 type but the prices are horrendous. If it carries on I can see myself having to look for another job closer to home for less money and no company car just to be able to afford to live. The changes in the governments company car tax rates over the last few years has been horrendous. Could you not get a pick up truck? Loads of people at our place have them, if the payload is over a tonne they're classed as light commercial vehicles so you pay about 2/3rds less in tax. Not very eco friendly admittedly, my missus has a full blown electric car so not sure it would look good particularly having a Nissan Leaf sat next to a Nissan Navara in the drive What do you think of the Leaf, I've just requested a demonstration vehicle, is the range as far as it says or is it 55MPH down the motorway ? I'm also looking at the Skoda range of electric vehicle www.skoda.co.uk/new-cars/enyaq-iv/60-nav

In terms of the range because of Covid the longest journey she's done is Stoke and back from North Manchester but we have a friend who has one who regularly does Birmingham and back in it which is around 170 miles I guess?

Getting new company car, and for tax reasons going for hybrid. Torn between Toyota Corolla Estate or Kia Niro. Anyone got either, or are better options available. Looked at ex demo mondeo estate, cheap enough, but list price clobbers me on tax. I've just had it confirmed that my new Toyota Corolla touring sport hybrid (company car) has arrived at the dealership for its PDI, i cant wait. Currently have a Nissan xtrail gas guzzler. Spec looks great, really nice interior. I will let you know how it drives when I have it Have u picked yr car up yet. If so...1st impressions..

Got a diesel. Not sure why but when I got to choose a company car they said diesel gets the best value for money so I should go for that. In 18 months I'm up for a change and will go hybrid, if not full electric. They just installed charging stations at work so filling up won't be a problem. As for Toyota vs Kia, I guess with a kia you get more for your money in terms of extras, but I'd go Toyota as overall it's a better quality car. Seems that most taxis in Plymouth are Toyota Prius Hybrids so that says something I guess as they’ve been making them for 24 years. Not for me though until there is a full electric on the market for around £15-16k that has a range of 350+ miles.
