I know that many Stokies believe that we are rebuilding and progressing as a club, at least as compared to our earlier experiences in the Championship. Many fans probably believe that if we remain positive, then the results will come. But the fact is, they're not.
At least if we start with the basic premise that Michael O Neill was appointed to save us from relegation, then I do think that he will achieve that this season.
Meanwhile I'm thinking of pushing for a personal Ads space on the Oatcake, so I can post something of the nature.

I definitely think MoN was appointed to avoid relegation
I think scholes and JC would like him to keep us in the championship , until all the ridiculous ( and imposibily expensive ) contracts of Allen , wimmer , clucas , badou , etebo , Bauer , Ince , Gregory ... have expired. I think they have given up all hope of finding anyone stupid enough to take on their wages ...but intend to keep schtum , rather than elaborate on their own failings .

There was an old [identity group stereotyped for parsimony redacted to avoid offending modern sensibilities] man whose wife died. He called the local paper to place an obituary and they said it was one pound per word, so he thought about it and requested "JOAN DEAD". They said that's five pounds. He said I thought you said it's one pound per word and they said the minimum fee is five pounds. So he thought again and eventually said, "ok - JOAN DEAD. VOLVO FOR SALE"

One thing that they are meant to do , is use the club's parachute payments ( triggered by relegation from the prem) to put the club on a financial even keel in the championship. This they have totally one hundred percent cent , completely failed to do .

They put themselves in a position to try and do the best for the football club, and that's all they have done, yes they've made mistakes but in trying to do the best for stoke city. Bad buys by the past 3 managers have put us in state we are in now and as I keep repeating myself they backed managers which they had to do. MON was brought in to stabilise the club and the remit of getting us back into the premier league, sadly some think this should happen over night and until we rid ourselves of our couldn't give a shit pre maddona's which will take some time it will be hard to watch. When the family have put so much money into the club I find it hard that they are getting accused of misgivings. Anyway it's nothing to do with the family it's all Scholes fault!

Not that subtle really. I think MON is yet another Manager who thrives in adversity. Many have described him as an "underdog Manager" and he is at his best when against big odds. I actually believe that we could be drawn into a relegation fight this season, and Michael will finally put enough pieces of the Jigsaw together to turn our performances around.

This summer will be a real challenge as the next season is when the finances will be under maximum stress. Summer 2022 is when the majority of expensive contracts run out until then it’s making do as best we can.

Absolute disgrace Pretty much the same with mcvities chocolate biscuits isn't it? I used to remember them being too big for my cup, so I had to dip only the ends first. Now they fit right in, shocking. More endorphins out of them still tho than watching Stoke tbh

Some manufacturers are quite sly in their approach to "shrinkage". A while back Toblerone extended the spacing between triangles so that although you might have a similar length bar, there was actually less of it substance wise and you effectively lost a chunk.

in a very short period of time we've gone from moaning we were going down to moaning we won't make the play offs, so in a way the right direction. Yeah, very tentative steps in the right direction this season. Some of the deadwood gone, some new youngsters coming in, somewhat more comfortable league placement (mid table, not relegation dogfight). Much more positive progress required though. A couple of back-to-back wins again and folks on here will suddenly be eyeing up promotion and hoping our manager isn't poached by another team, as they were just a couple of games ago. Just another turn of fate on the Oatcake Bipolarcoaster. Crap as it's been lately, we're mid-table FFS*. * Obligatory league table summary, followed by a FFS.

Pulis will be manager at Stoke next season So having at last found a manager willing and even keen to integrate our youth team players which is what the Coates family wanted to happen when they funded the academy, you think they will appoint the man who criticised them for spending so much money on it instead of the first team? If we can keep Celtic away from MON I am excited to see how our team develops and much though I appreciated Pulis do not ever want him back. I have had enough of watching journeymen footballers and would like to proudly say that a player was given his first chance at Stoke and we developed him. In the Pulis years you could only name about 2 or 3 in the entire top 4 divisions who had done that never mind succeeded at Stoke.

One thing is for sure, we can't blame Wagon Wheels for the obesity thing.
Back on subject which I rarely am, am quite looking forward to seeing us have a full season of hopefully few injuries, Doughty in the side and those massive earners off the books.

The fact that he has integrated some of the youngsters is about the only thing in his favour this season. The football is very very similar to Pulisball, scared, negative, overly defensive, hoof ball.

Maybe we'll just replace them with some more massive earners, the only difference being that now they are Michael O Neill's massive earners!
