Yeah that's the game I was at. I honestly can't remember if he did or not tbh. I just remember chatting to a work colleague who is an Eccelshall fan and doing the best bit of control I've ever done with a football ever when a ball was kicked out I dont remember the game just seeing an obnoxious twat messing around with the match ball, š I don't even know why I went for it like I did because I usually have the touch of rhinocerous but it was fucking glorious

Bayern trapped the ball and Will Goodwin scored storylines. š

There's only 2 players I can think that I've seen play for Sandbach and think they looked like they'd be able to move up the ladder mind. I can't remember one of their names but the skillful fucker they had up front who went to Crewe on trial. Lovely footballer but half arsed a lot of the time and that's definitely what is holding him back. And Declan O'Riordan the young CB. I don't think he could go much higher but again I think he stood out. Love watching them though, it's so refreshing.

There's no substitute for watching up close, getting the FM generation out from behind their screens to actual see a match would have probably saved us Ā£100m over the past few years. The good players stand out really quickly. This 25 games bollocks is nonsense. Everyone has a bad game but 5 live matches and a bit of due diligence is far better than a YouTube video and a graph. The thing that I notice most is who communicates. It was obvious from day one Collins had a big gob and didn't care if they were 1st XI or not he was confident enough to own his position and move others about.

Iāve always thought that Kieron Garner Knapper ( goal scorer who can play along the line) was a very good player at Sandbach. Tricky, good turn of pace- I think that he could play at a higher level.

Heāll be a tough cookie if heās been brought up on the mean streets of Tarporley !! Posh place is Tarporley - Paul Burrell, the late Diana Princess of Wales' butler came from there. So did my boss at my first ever job for the Min of Ag Fish and Food at Crewe. definitely, hard pressed to get a good spot on the pavement cafe's on a nice Saturday morning

Could this lad go straight into the 1st team. After all Vokes is a pathetic striker Brown offers nothing but at least he runs about a lot and Powell is wasted up front

After all Vokes is a pathetic striker Brown offers nothing but at least he runs about a lot and Powell is wasted up front Unlikely - however good he is the staff and the manager will want to see him in a few under 23 games first. And he may well be at a lower fitness level at present - I'm not saying he is, but he COULD be and they will need to assess if he has the stamina to go with his obvious strength. But if he is decent, he could well get the chance to train with the first team and perhaps a spot on the subs bench before the end of the season.

Recall the lad from Newcastle Town making his debut, looked miles off the standard, if Iām in saying he had a serious injury shortly afterwards and not seen again.

When Dave Goodwin scored those two goals on debut against West Ham, I believe that he lived in Alsager and his father Jack played for Alsager Cricket Club. However, that was nearly 50 years and my memory may be playing tricks with me! Can any Alsager Stokies help me out?

The last time a Goodwin made his debut for Stoke he scored twice...went pretty much downhill after that for Dave Goodwin I'm afraid. Hope this lad starts a bit slower, but goes on for many, many successful seasons as a Stokie Are we looking at a rather unfortunate parallel? Dave Goodwin scored 3 goals in 26 appearances for Stoke between 1973 and 1977. He came from Nantwich. Dave Goodwin was from Alsager mate.

Dave was born and bred in Alsager,he used to live in coronation avenue.Played with him at Alsager Town,he runs a taxi business locally. I remember his Dad played bowls but not sure about cricket. He died quite recently I think and was well into his nineties.

That was Sean Wade he came on as a substitute during a night match I recall. As you say he didn't get to a sniff but we never saw enough to really judge him. He was very prolific at Newcastle but I think the injury put paid to his dreams of making it as a professional.

Can anyone remember a lad called "Bandit" who was prolific in local football and then Stoke signed him. Didn't quite make it and I think went to live in Australia.

That was in the Macari era. He was much older than this lad(24) and built like a brick outhouse. He played for Newcastle in a friendly against us and bullied our defence. Just seen pottersrule post above. Should have read through first.
