I once noticed Nigella Lawson kept her spices in jars with no labels on them.
I thought about that when I went through the spices in my kitchen. I happened to notice my ground ginger expired on Sep 2019.
Would it be dangerous to use it? 🙄

Spices can go off whereas Nigella on the other hand. The Mrs tried to turn a Nigella programme over the other night and I quickly said Nooooooo! She said why? But I was too flustered to offer an explanation👀

Like some have said, you won’t get food poisoning but they won’t pack as much punch either. Just double the amount.

I usually just open jar and have a good sniff ( stop the sniggering, Nigellla pervs...!!) and if aroma of the spice is there just add a bit extra as Linx says. If can’t smell anything , chuck it out. My daughter got me some Venetian dried herbs and spices to fry pasta in and are years out of date ( as were big packets) but still pack a punch

Would it be dangerous to use it? 🙄 yes, no problem The wife got the mother in law to clear out her cupboards last week, after we had to get her a new fridge freezer and found fajita wraps in there from 2010 (defrosted them and they were like cardboard) she's found spices in the cupboard from 2004, some unopened, all thrown away as that dry they were like confetti
