One each from England, Wales, N Ireland and Scotland.
You must have seen each of them play (live on TV or at a game you attended)
But none of them should have played for Stoke.
My choices:
England - Bobby Moore - super player, great captain for club and country and taken from us far too young.
Wales - John Charles - World class at both centre forward and centre back - has to be any manager's dream!
N Ireland - George Best - a privilege to watch him in his prime. One of the few opposing players who regularly got applauded when he worked his magic at Stoke.
Scotland - Jim Baxter - fabulous to watch - although Dalgleish comes a close second.

There’s only one I can think of that could of been described as realistic
Peter osgood If we had of got that over the line Stoke might well of won the league

England - Shearer Scotland - Dalglish Wales - Rush Northern Ireland - Whiteside (never saw Best live on TV, that I can recollect. Maybe a home international but I think they were highlights only save Scotland v England).

Peter Osgood - we would have won the 1st Div in 1970s if he's agreed to come and changed our fortunes forever with Hudson and Greenhoff
George Best- we retain the title for the next 3 years
Gareth Bale - we wouldn't have been relegated from the PL.
Kenny Dalglish - once in a lifetime footballer.

Billy Bremner Peter Osgood Francis Lee Colin Todd
We would have won everything in the 70s with those four alongside our existing players.

You have too many English don't you? We can still dream, mate. Those of us of a certain age know that Osgood would have been the one. Gawd only knows what happened that fateful night out at The Place, he was ready to sign. The following day he was going to quit football, Big Bertha has a lot to answer for a night "up 'anley" 😁

How about less of a fantasy wish list: four British players who nearly played for Stoke and you wish they had done.
Like Peter Osgood, for example.

England - Harry Kane, would’ve kept us up 😂 Wales - Gareth Bale, would’ve possibly kept us up Scotland - John Mcginn, may have kept us up... NI - Jonny evans. Much better than we had playing.
Obviously I’ve based it around our relegation season but those players would’ve massively (pie in the sky I know) improved us. Wouldn’t happen in a million years but there you go 😂
