Bottom two divisions contain 17* teams who would go on to play top-flight football, and three FA Cup winners.
*I think?

I used to get them every season.
My reading as a youngster was top notch. Used to look forwards to get them popping through the door every week.
Roy of the Rovers 76-80 Shoot 80-82 Match 82-85
Also used to love collecting the Panini albums. Only one I every completed was 78 (the first).

Blast from the past - I seem to remember these tables were also issued with some other boys comics (can't remember which ones though) throughout the 1970's as well, and there might have been some in the late 60's as well.
As a young lad I used to love them and always changed the tables every week. There were a few teams where I thought the colours were wrong though - Palace as claret/white, Villa, WHU, & Burnley where the claret was almost purple, Luton as blue/orange.
It's a shame some magazine doesn't issue a set for next season for us oldies.

Very nostalgic. Used to get Shoot every Thursday and fight with my brothers over who read it first. Every week there was a player profile with questions asked of the player. One of the questions was something like “Biggest regret in football?” Now, my mind may be playing tricks on me, but I’m sure it was either Adrian Heath or Paul Bracewell who answered something like “ Not leaving Stoke sooner”. Does that ring any bells with anyone else?
I could be wrong as I was a kid when I read it and sad that they left, so my mind may have been playing anger games.😂😂

Used to love ‘Shoot’ magazine......used to wait for the letterbox to rattle every Satdee morning for it to arrive. Still got an old copy somewhere I bought off eBay cos it got a full page picture of Jimmy Greenhoff on the back. Up until recently, I’ve been buying ‘Back Pass’ which is a retro football magazine, which is like a mixture of Shoot, Goal, Match etc all mixed together, cracking read.

I had them in the early 90's. Match and Shoot did them but Shoot were better. Match ones were in the shape of shirts IIRC, but the Shoot ones had all sort of info on the tab. I remember one year I used them to remember all of the nicknames and home stadiums of all the clubs in the entire professional pyramid.
Mis-spent youth my backside!
