You say it doesn't make sense then repeat what I said. Yeah you said it makes sense to send Bursik out on loan and have Davies as number 1. That in itself doesn’t have any rationale as to why. - I was posing questions as to what ifs - to me it would make sense to send joe out only if it was reluctantly because we can’t cancel Gunns loan and if they both have more authority, sway, they have to be no1 & 2. But then: can we cancel Gunns’ loan? Would it be better to send Davies out til the summer? Would/can we keep all 3 here? Course it did. I'd say there's very little chance of sending Gunn back, season long loans like that you rarely can. Hence my post.

Any keeper would panic when you have poor defenders, Baath, just in front of you.
Even Banks had the odd mare.

Hardly surprising that a keeper behind a defence that has kept so many clean sheets hasn't had to make saves. Yes. I am not sure what those stats tell us. How many are routine saves? What constitutes a save? Does it include coming out at an attacker’s feet? You could argue that saves are a goalkeeper’s last resort. How many goals has Bursik conceded that he stood any chance with? Based on the quality of the on target attempts all three have faced this season. Davies' shotstopping has been very slightly better than Gunn's and both have been quite alot better than Bursik. All three have been below the Championship average. No slight intended on JB. That's about where you'd expect him to be at his age + experience. He's conceded 14 goals when an average Championship keeper would expect to allow around 11. He had a fairly taxing start.

Just fuck off with these kind of comments! He's 20 and has done absolutely fantastic since he came in, a few mistakes tonight yes but overall he has been fantastic. Disgraceful some of you lot are. I stand by what I say after a shaker start he looks like a top keeper in the making who down the line could be worth big money. Don’t really think any of the goals yesterday were directly down to him.

Overall, Joe Bursik has been brilliant since he came in. It should need more than the rush of blood he had last night for him to lose his place.

We can't afford Bursik making mistakes in the hope that he'll get 'experience'. In Davies we have a keeper who was in terrific form and in whom the defenders clearly had confidence. He needs to play on Friday. Why can't we, this season is pretty much a write off. Hopefully we can get a striker and sneak the play offs but if not we wont be going down so I would keep him in the team, the suggestions on sending him back to league 1 are ridiculous he will learn nothing there as he is already past that level and we need to look at the highly likely fact that within 18 months he will be at a premier league club even if we are not promoted so to maximise his value he needs to have played as many championship games as he can. Obviously if he has a butland like run of performances he should be taken out of the firing line but 1 average game.....

How dare a player have a poor game. I would actually sell him after that. Davies much better option, if he has a stinker though I'd get rid of him too. Well said. Has England keeper Pickford never made an error for Everton? Has De Gea never had a poor game for Man Utd.? Bursik has done brilliantly for us considering his inexperience.

Thanks for standing in Joe, I think you did an exceptional job under great pressure, but you must go out into the world and build on your experience gained during your stand in period, you will be a top goalie one day. I think Davies should come back against Watford, he has spent so much time on the sidelines behind Butland and he has played so well up until his injury that he deserves to have his place back.

Bursik deserves all the praise he can get. Last night he wasn’t helped by his manager or his defence who insisted on playing out from the back against the fittest side in the league and a very good pressing side.
The lack of outlet meant we had no option if we went long such is the managers peculiar obsession with Brown.
Yes he made a couple of errors- but he was being out under pressure from those around him.
Their 2nd was a mess but I’m more concerned that Mikel turned his back on the ball to be honest.
