Surely a more relevant question is how long does it take get there. I vividly recall as a kiddie getting stuck in three hour traffic jams near St Asaph on the way to Llandudno. That was more than 50 years ago. Has it improved? Yes, dual carriageway all the way now

Somewhere in my head says Leicester is the furthest British city from the sea, so I would guess the furthest league ground would be around the west of Leicester somewhere. It also depends how you define "sea." Do you measure from tidal waters or the actual coast? I'm sure I read somewhere in my youth that Leicester was the English (and UK) City furthest from the sea. So that would suggest Leicester's ground would be the correct answer to the original question. Except that some football grounds are located outside cities

Leicester. I once cycled it (Hunstanton was the nearest) when I was a crazy 14 year old. And it was a bloody long way.

This article about football grounds closest to and farthest from their town centres has an amusing end: "Port Vale is 3.9 miles away from Stoke." www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/revealed-football-grounds-closest-furthest-13035391Vale Park is one of the closest grounds to its town centre (Burslem if any non-locals wondered) in the country, at around 0.3 miles. The Victoria Ground was likely even closer than that to Stoke town centre. Apparently Arsenal's ground is the furthest away: "A Gunners fan walking from the club’s spiritual home of Woolwich to the Emirates would have to walk 10.6 miles according to Google Maps." Glory hunters...

Im struggling with that one mate living in Derby🤔😄 Derby to Skeg Vegas 97 miles Derby to Blackpool 122 miles Derby to Rhyl 123 miles Derby to Liverpool 95 miles As the crow flies perhaps? It depends what is defined as the sea. If it means tidal waters then, according to Google, Coton in the Elms in Derbyshire is the furthest at 45 miles but 70 miles from the coast as the crow flies.

Dad would insist on leaving our home at O'crack sparrow to miss the traffic. We’d be settled on the beach by 7.30am

Shrewsbury is a good shout if we are only considering English coastlines the nearest English coast would be possibly Formby (as a guess)
