Thought he was excellent today. Tired a little but showed what we’ve been missing. Good to have him back. He 100 percent improves our midfield. After today I’d have him and Thompson ahead of Cousins next game.

That will be the Cousins who has been excellent for the last 6 weeks ?
Allen played 65 mins tonight and whilst I appreciate he needs to get fit, Cousins has bust a gut for 90 plus mins every time he has played.
I’d rather see Cousins, Allen and Powell if it’s a 3 - Cousins can do the dirty work and allows the other two time and space to get forward. Mikel doesn’t offer enough in either manner (attack or defence).

Added a bit extra. Put his foot on it, brings others into the game, and can add a bit of creativity and a goal threat at times also

Yes, he was good but clearly faded. I know two of them were tired by then but the Clucas, Mikel and Allen three really didn’t look great and I don’t think that trio would give us enough discipline. We need Cousins in there.

Considering he’s been out for as long as I’ve been out of work I though he did really well. And good luck to him

I think Clucas, Powell, Allen and Campbell were brilliant second half of last season. We don't have Campbell but hopefully, the other 3 will be in form and a constant in the second half of the season. To be play-off contenders we need a decent left-sided defender(wing-back), quality center-half and a striker. I think it will be another couple of windows of off-loading before we can bring in though. What we don't want is to be giving 2-year contracts to journey-men. Have to start bringing in genuine quality if we have any ambition to push on

The way he is getting stuck into tackles is very encouraging as well. Means the mental part of the recovery is going well also. Great to see.

He was about the best of the outfielders.
Got around well but as ever we needed more quality on the ball from him. And his finish for that chance was pretty dreadful.

I agree he was our best tonight, I liked the way he moved the ball forward quickly, mostly accurately and decisively, no-one else does that, but he wasn't really in the game for the last 30 minutes. I don't know what to think about Clucas though!

Not great on the ball but theirs a lot worse and Chester has been decent and is used as a scapegoat. The problems at the other end of the field and needs sorting ASAP.

The injury he had was one of worst, if not the worst, injury a player could have.
An injury that effectively finished the careers of Ric and Higgy.
The way he's returned is testament to his commitment to the profession and his professionalism.
The fact that he can ally that fitness to a level of performance as well is superb.
All the credit in the world to him. If he can keep playing how he did last night, he'll be a huge plus for us.

Head and shoulders above anybody else on the pitch first half. Faded last 25 mins but he's just returned from a long injury.

A quality player, especially in the Championship. Proper all round footballer who needs to play where he did last night. Demonstrating yet again that the idea he was the cause of our demise is laughable.

And we had "supporters" on here who wanted get rid of him? Head and shoulders above everyone else and our best player by a mile. If only we had another 2 players in middle with his energy and commitment.

What is it about Joe that his fans can only see him as being fantastic and his detractors can only see him as rubbish. Is there no middle way - a decent performance, nothing special? He'll get better than last night, l have no doubt he'll get back up to the form he was showing last January and February. And then we can tell it how it is.

Let's not forget also, that he did the majority of his rehabilitation during lockdown, which would have made it even harder. A true professional who puts a lot of our recent signings to shame. His performance levels since his return, given the nature of his injury, have been nothing short of remarkable.
