He was and always is a limited footballer, but this season by and large he doesn't seem to have that zip he had last season?. I used to think he should be first name on the team sheet, now not so sure..

He's not changed 1 iota. He is what he is.
He gives us energy, drive and aggression but he's a seriously limited footballer devoid of any real quality.

Not been great since his injury but been in and out. This limited ability thing is such a boring cliche on here.

Is it possible that mad Nath’s idea to move him to full back wasn’t so mad after all?

I don't think so, I thought he did quite well last night.
We were a different team in the second half and I thought he was a big part of that with his bursts of energy and aggressive play. Opponents really don't like it and it generally unsettles them and that works to our teams advantage, we all know that his end product is a bit random but he always contributes to the team and I think that's why MON likes him. He's got that ability to help us shift up a gear when we need it.

No he’s just shit, always has been, always will be. He's not shit, but he is basically a 6/10 each week type of player who has an occasional 5/10 or 7/10 game.

He always puts a shift in and was one of the few who looked like they gave a shit last season - a great pro and a good example to the younger squad members

It’s not uncommon for wingers to become full backs towards the end of their careers. I thought he was good at left back, and has done well as a wing back. He’s got the tenacity and speed to do it, it’s just his tackling is a bit rash.

Perhaps a player who strives on supporters of his own team and winding up the opposition fans.

Is it possible that mad Nath’s idea to move him to full back wasn’t so mad after all? Nope and he wasn't as bad as some made out. A wingback in a 442 diamond is a much more specialised position than playing wingback in a 352 or 343. With 3 centrebacks the left or right CB can cover more easily which helps when JM is caught out of position. His defensive frailties were more exposed in Jones' system. Trouble is we haven't really got anyone who can play wingback on the right.

McLean didn't link with Bruno very well when he played LWB and Bruno was the left sided CB With a regular central three of Collins, Souttar and Chester the communication appears to be much better. At the end of the day Jimmy is best as a winger attacking his full back and pinging lots of crosses over so e if which are very good (obviously sone others are appalling).
If we want quality crosses then by a mile the best for that is Verlinden however his issue is fannying about in training 😞

I have noticed that he doesn't play with the same intensity ever since he was tested positive for the corona virus. Is he suffering from post covid?

Bloody hell, for a team who have supposedly got so many shit players playing every week we aren't doing too bad.
How many points in 2020? How many clean sheets?
What about a New Year's Resolution........Give the player's who have done so brilliantly in 2020 some f***** credit!
(not directed at OP btw)

Could be a case, must be hard to get back to something as taxing as playing football. A family member had it and really took it out of them. Still not 100,% right. I'm surè he'll be back to upsetting the masses soon enough

I'm agreeing with you really. I think he did ok too considering he's not a defender.

He is a limited player, but always gives his best. Very often a player to get the mark 6 in a game, not very good or very bad. At once he is up against a fullback with more pace than himself he has nothing more in his locker unfortunately. Still a decent player for us, but we should really be able to bring someone better in if we are serious candidates for promotion. Two new wingers and cover for the left back spot in January please, but I guess this is dependent on somebody leaving first (Bauer & Wimmer hopefully!).
