Got to think there probably isn't any kind of clause which would enable us to send Gunn back, but it would be the obvious move.
Doubt we're paying anywhere near Gunn's entire salary - but we must be paying a decent chunk, even if it's only 10-15k-a-week (which in our current predicament is not peanuts)
It would seem a bit of an unnecessary expense now, with 2 decent keepers of our own already contracted beyond this year.
Wouldn't make much sense to have Gunn on the bench ahead of either of our own for the remainder of the season. And any agreement to have Gunn here next season now seems pretty pointless with the finances it would involve

No need for Gunn imo. I’d go with Davies/ Bursik and keep Lonegran 3rd choice. Much cheaper and no worse situation.

MON clearly wanted him and imo he’s a much better goalie than Davies. I’d sell Davies, sign Gunn and keep Bursik in a shot. Don’t think we could afford to sign him mind. As things stand though, Bursik has to stay in whatever.

I would say Bursik is number one now, he's had more games as No1 than Davies this season.

I think MON is the sort of manager who has the philosophy that the shirt is yours to lose so as long as Bursik keeps up his level he will stay in goal. However when, as is very likely for a young keeper, he loses form, I think Davies will get the nod not particularly because he is a lot better than Gunn but because he is Stoke's and you don't want to upset your own player by playing a player who if he does well could be kept by his own club next season. I suspect the same will hold for the number 2 as well so I imagine Gunn would be no.3 and quite keen to terminate the loan if possible.

Bursik keeps the shirt Davies on the bench Gunn is not our player long term so I’m less arsed about him although I rate him

Bursik is here to stay. I think we have found a gem. He exudes confidence and is growing after a slow start. Conceding those goals in his early days, could have shattered his confidence, the fact that he has gone from strength to strength since, underlines what a great prospect we have on our hands..

Bursik for me. He’s been outstanding since his shakey start and looks a top top keeper in the making that could be worth 20m plus in a couple of years. Harsh on Davies and to a lesser extent Gunn but it’s a nice problem to have You can see that with confidence Bursik is a different keeper dropping him could do a lot of damage.

Absolute no brainer. Joe Bursik has been little short of magnificent since his debut, so assured and confident which in turn gives confidence to the back 4 or 5. A future full England international in the making although I fear it won’t happen as a Stoke City player.

As far as I am concerned its Bursiks to keep until or if his form drops. All round ability, one on one, high balls, punching, catching and kicking. He will take some shifting and will 9nly get better with experience.
As bad as the injuries have been for Stoke it has unearthed some gems.

It's a nice problem to have for a change. I was very impressed by Davies (which wasn't hard after the shit show of Butland) but either way it's an area we look solid in looking forward.

Does Josef Bursik play for Poland,?
Great situation to be in now with two good keepers in Bursik and Davies.

Does Josef Bursik play for Poland,?Great situation to be in now with two good keepers in Bursik and Davies. The answer to your question is no - he has played for England at all levels from U17 to U21. Born in Lambeth he will presumably want to play for the England senior team and I have no doubt that if he maintains his current form that will happen sooner or later.

On my FM game he ended up playing for Croatia so guessing he can qualify for them somewhere down the line.

Bursik is a potential England senior international goalkeeper.
We should be building him up as much as possible, as we should be with all our youngsters.

I guess Davies will be No1. But who should be our No2? It will be harsh on Bursik to be third choice again after doing so well. I really hope we can send Gunn back so he can play somewhere else, Davies and Bursik are both more than good enough for Stoke!

I thought what a huge improvement Davies was compared to Jack regarding being quick off his line when needed. But Joe Bursik has taken that side of the game to a complete different level. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a keeper close down space so quick. Maybe Peter Schmiechel.

Bursik after a shaky start has been fantastic. Commands his area, quick off the line and kicks brilliantly.
For me it's his shirt to lose.

Had to double check the title of the thread
I though it said 3ft keepers. 🤣
Thought it was a new legislation by the FA to increase goal scoring. 🤣🤣

In my opinion, the first spot belongs to Bursik until he goes through a bad spell of form. At that point, he gets replaced for Davies, who is our keeper. I feel more confident with Davies, as I think at this stage, he is a better keeper. However, you can’t drop someone who hasn’t really put a foot wrong since coming in, it would destroy his confidence.

Bursik has been decent since coming in, but let’s not get carried away.

It's Joe Bursik's shirt to lose. The lad has been brilliant and, as long as he maintains his form, should keep his place - with Davies on the bench.
