With FFP how and why are people even suggesting Dwight Gayle. Get real.. On a loan wouldn’t be an issue

Think it’s time to move those advertising hoardings back a bit. First Fletcher and now Campbell injured as a result of them.

Didn’t realise we had so many medical experts on the board. If as predicted he’s out for a lengthy period we need to go for Dwight Gayle in January. The days of us signing that kind of player are well and truly over.

It could just as easily be an impact injury which could clear up very quickly. It's all conjecture at the moment. I really hope so mate, but looking at how he lands and his reaction it's pretty bleak. Let's hope our luck is in, cos it certainly hasn't been all season! I'm really hoping it's the case mate. I cannot imagine a physio letting him walk around half the length of the playing area if he thought it was a serious ligament injury.

The days of us signing that kind of player are well and truly over. A guy that can’t get into a Newcastle side that can’t score. He’s not a PL player. It’s an outside chance but if we can keep around the playoffs definately worth a punt as Vokes starting will destroy us.

I’m trying to stay positive, but it doesn’t look too good.

Bojan, Van Dijk are 2 memorable examples. It honestly didn't look great, like I say I personally think best case scenario 6 weeks.

I wouldn't say conjecture; walking after ligament injuries won't make much difference really. Short walk to the changing room, will have been checked over again, and probably given crutches if it already started to swell etc Anyway, fingers crossed - we'll find out soon enough!

Gutted to see him go off. Did worryingly look like the Bojan one. Just got to hope it’s not his ACL...

He’s the one player that injects a bit of excitement into games. I hope it’s not too bad, the thought of enduring Vokes and Ince for any period of time is positively depressing A season write off

To early to say according to the manger but no indication it’s a huge injury they might not know of course if he needs a scan but he’s touching wood it’s not too serious which is better than looks like a bad one and we await the scans

Most players go through the season picking up an injury or two.
The way Campbell plays I’m surprised he hasn’t picked up more.
But if he’s out for even 6 weeks I fear for our season.
His importance to us can’t be measured. He’s that important for me.

I agree, however its season 3 of us being down here and if we don’t go up this term then we’ll likely have to sell some of our better players due to FFP and end up a lot weaker. We really need to do everything we possibly can to get back up this year.

Looked like a bad one to me.
I think he is going to be out for months and then when he returns he won’t have that blistering turn of pace.

That was Brown wasn't it? Brown hit the boards not Campbell They both did at one point or another in the game, I originally thought Campbells injury was from going into them too, I must have missed what actually did it as it was soon after that he was going off and I hadn't seen anything else.

Verlinden also walked off & around the pitch following an ACL injury, albeit with some assistance, seems more common than you would think.

Time for them to consider pissing those boards off then! Totally agree. They have caused injuries to two of our strikers. Brown’s injury was compounded by him slipping on the silly pvc adverts attached to the edge of the pitch.

Having Campbell in the team adds that vital ingredient of pace. Without him, we look utterly devoid of purpose and don't look like we'll come close to scoring. Replacing TC with Vokes is like trading in your Ferrari for a milk float- it's such a drop-off in quality it's impossible to even look like the same team, even if the other ten players were the same.
You can see now why MON thought it ecessary to spend £2m on Brown, who's nowhere near the player Campbell is, but brings some speed and athleticism to the attack. If he's out as well, I can't see us picking many points up sadly.
