From what MON said in his presser Bursik Smith Collins Soutter Fox Cousins Thompson Brown Powell Verlinden Fletcher I think you're misinterpreting what O'Neill said. He said that he hoped to have, among others, Fletcher ready. This must mean that he isn't going to be 100% fit, maybe not even 70%. If that's the case O'Neill isn't going to risk aggravating Fletcher's injury by throwing him straight in. The most we can hope for is a late sub.

If Campbell is out (extremely likely) and Brown knackered (very possibly) we already know that Vokes and Ince offer absolutely nothing - we have to at least have something different on the bench "Judy incase" - are there a couple of speedy forwards in the U23's (surely we can risk popping a couple on the bench with 7 subs to be named). Sometimes it is times like these where a youngster really pops up out of nowhere - didn't Rashford come from Man Utd's U18 straight into the first team and never looked back - I'm not saying we have an U23 in that mould but you never know. NIMOI and all that. Also, if Campbell is out for a period we really need to try to get Liam Delap on loan in January. I'd love a kid to come out and make a name for himself, but I just don't think that Varian and Norton who play in the u23 are anywhere near being that. We have other marvellously talented players there; in addition to Forrester and Porter who have been on the bench last season and this, there's Sparrow, who I was piping for the other day, and there's Macari, who despite being a cd has had to play fullback and midfield, because the u23s have been used to restore Shawcross and keep Lindsay matchfit, and Wimmer also plays there sometimes. You'd hope that Macari would have a striker's bones somewhere in his DNA, but having played those other positions so far, I guess not. As for Liam Delap, it's a waste of energy, when both father and son have said they'd prefer not to work together.

Hearing from a Derby mate that they have a few injury problems this weekend, defender Curtis Davis is 90/95% certain to miss the game..

When I was a kid this would be a major Division 1/ Premier clash. Anyway, as for Satdee I worry about the Rooney factor. A draw would be a result, given the injuries we have.

No matter how bad things are injury wise Vokes and Ince can’t seriously be considered as starters.

If Thompson is fit enough to play alongside Cousins and Fletcher is fit enough to play up front, that'll free up Brown for the right, and give him a decision to make on Tymon.
It'd be an interesting call between Ince and Tymon on the left.
Just wonder if he may give Ince one last chance, especially against his old club.
Not sure which way I'd go on that one because Tymon rarely impresses when he plays wide, for all his enthusiasm.
Mind you, you could obviously say the same about Ince - but the fact he still seems to be ahead of Verlinden does speak volumes about the lack of impact he's making in MON's thoughts

Can’t see Shawcross starting yet mate I would start him now! If you select your team on distant past experiences then by all means play him. If however you base it on current form then Ryan's still not quite ready. He's played in the Academy but he's barely been tested with match playing, just whether he could play through 90/45 mins with his body holding up, which it can.

I'm one of the minority that hasn't written off Ince. He's got very good technical ability and decent pace.
If MON can instill some self-belief in him then this could be his time to step up.
Either way, just win tomorrow. Just win.

Either way, just win tomorrow. Just win. Ince had a few good games for us in his first season but we need to see much more from him. With the games coming thick and fast I think everyone in the squad has a part to play this season, he could really do with a goal to give him some confidence, preferably tomorrow against his old club! I wouldn’t be against him starting tomorrow

Derby will know all there is to know about Ince and how to stop him if he is picked. Just have to threaten him with a tackle!
