How is break dancing any different to gymnastics or figure skating being an Olympic sport?

How is break dancing any different to gymnastics or figure skating being an Olympic sport? Good point but do we carry on and include jive, ballroom and other dance styles? Maybe one per Olympics?

Maybe the Olympic authorities got confused as a lot of breakdancing is to hip-hop, which almost sounds like a sport in itself. Breakdancing will probably make more money than most other dance styles. It's got people talking about the Olympics, and the aim is probably to attract a bigger and more diverse audience. Breakdancing may be outdoors too, so tourist boards of future Olympic locations will enjoy the promotion of more 'cool' locations. BMX freestyle, surfing, skateboarding and more have been added for Tokyo too.
