Slade Viccy Hall 1972 I was only thinking about them yesterday when Gudbye T Jane came on the radio. Full Crombie uniform as well thank God I don't have any photos otherwise the kids would be wetting themselves Think Slade might have been my first also but in 73 or 74.Saw Mud around the same time so it may have been them.

First concert 1977 - Gary Glitter. To be fair, we didn’t know at that point. Last concert 2019. - The Dead South. Absolutely worlds apart. I'm a big Dead South fan, what did you think of them live ? They always sound good in the videos of their gigs, just wondered if they're the same "in the flesh" ?

Slade at the Viccy Hall as well.
If i remember, 90p for a ticket on the top level.
The support acts were an unknown American named Suzi Quatro and an Irish band called Thin Lizzy.
Think they all kicked on a bit.

Why? – Because my mum and dad liked them, and took us to see ‘em.

World of Twist, early 90s.
Don't remember who the support was but do recall that whoever it was were a great band.

Bingley Hall by any chance, if so, I was there! My first was Climax Blues Band, Viccy Hall, around 76 I think. Couldn't get it right just in the charts! I was gobsmacked at how good live music was, loved going concerts ever since. I was at the Boston concert at Bingley Hall as well. Went by train and walked all the way from Stafford station - fortunately got a lift back to the station after the gig. I saw the Climax Blues Band at Viccy Hall as well - small world isn't it ! Sorry my friend, Bismarck, North Dakota. ...no doubt they were as polished for you as well.

The Vapors.
Why - because they were the support act for the Jam on the Setting Sons tour in 1979.

I don't think it's 100% complete but I've found this list of concerts at the Viccy Hall going back to 1968, and even a few back in the 50's. I've found quite a few listed that I went to - maybe some of you can find some that you went to ? link

I've found this Boston ticket stub online - 21st October 1979 at Bingley Hall - £4.50 ticket ! I was there too. I went because of their song more than a feeling. To be honest I really did not enjoy the gig that much as I wasn't really into that sound at that time, but hold my hand up and say that musically they were head and shoulders above anything I had seen at that time.

Status Quo at Viccy Hall in 1973 (possibly that concert with Savoy Brown as support band). Next one in 1973 was Mott the Hoople at the Viccy Hall, with Queen as support band. Edit: Just googled those 1973 tour dates. Status Quo played the Viccy Hall on 4th October 1973 indeed with Savoy Brown. Mott The Hoople played the Viccy Hall with Queen on 18th November 1973. Apparently, the Victoria Hall (or the bands involved) was nearly done for being in contempt of court in 1973, when band rehearsals interrupted court proceedings at Hanley Town Hall. I think Bowie in '73 was one of the gigs mentioned, along with Slade and Queen - so perhaps Mott the Hoople were conveniently forgotten in that fact. I don't know what happened after that - maybe they turned the volume down or rehearsals only happened after court proceedings had finished.

1971 The Temptations and Four Tops appeared in soul music extravaganza with Aretha Franklyn in Edinburgh. Tickets had been distributed to military free because the take up by the Jocks had been very poor.
