Seeing Carl Saunders nickname of Spider on another thread got me thinking. Ar there any other really unusual and commonly used (by Stoke fans) nicknames for players
I seem to remember:
Neil Adams nickname was "Shoes"
Adrian Heath was "Inchy"
Paul Maguire was "Glassback" (I think)
Wasn't one of the Paul Johnson's nicknamed "Piggy"
Mark Stein was the "Golden One"
Any more??

Tupper Stigger Fucking Bamber I'd be interested to know how and why the nicknames were thought up/ came to be Paul "Tupper" Ware is pretty obvious but where does "Shoes" come from for Neil Adams or "Bluto" for Alan Bloor

Razor Wallace, the Beest, Jigsaw Carruthers (goes to pieces in the box). I have always liked the rather clever Freezer and Tumble.
Not Stoke, but ex-Oldham defender Fitz Hall was nicknamed "One Size", which is sheer genius.

Spider for Saunders was that he has long skinny legs which seemed to stretch to get the ball when it looks like he couldn't get to it.

I think overall we've been a bit lacking in players nicknamed "Maestro," Merlin" or "Superstar."
