Normally I’d be looking forward to this game. But because it’s The Capped One and his Hoodoo I’m sort of dreading it. The only thing that gives me solace is that MON plays a similar sort of game, so TP’s past tactics of exploiting the gaps in our fancy passing game might well negate itself against MON’s tactics of exploiting the gaps in their fancy passing game. Who will crack first and actually touch the ball more than twice?

While Campbell has been scoring and assisting from right and left this season, with Fletcher out I’d play Campbell in the middle with McClean and Brown either side. I have a horrible feeling however Vokes or Gregory will start. Bursik will play I imagine but he’ll be under massive pressure. Can also see Collins coming in for Souttar to give him a rest as he’s looked a little out of sorts last couple of games.

I'd keep him there and start with Gregory.

Still pessimistic even after analysing our prospects. If we had got a positive result against Norwich it would have been good to have faced TP in a position of strength and confidence near the top of the table.
Instead I have been reminded that we are just a couple of major injuries away from being in a potential relegation battle. Especially if today turns out to be a physical attritional battle.
Wouldn't surprise me to see several big guys in Stoke's squad and line up today, including Lyndsey.

I think if we replace Fletcher with Vokes it will be playing into Wednesdays hands, we need pace and mobility up top. I am liking the Clucas dead ball delivery last few matches, some of the corners on Wednesday were very Etherington esque.

Who will crack first and actually touch the ball more than twice? One of my favourite films is Waterloo, which was actually on some TV channel last week. In the film there is a sequence from the eve of the battle, where the two commanders, Napoleon and Wellington, are staring out of their windows at the rain, each thinking aloud and trying to outguess the other. I can well imagine O Neil and Pulis going through the same tactical thought processes before this big game.

I can see us conceding early then Wednesday playing every trick in the book to secure a 1-0 win. I really want to be proven wrong. Just have a bad feeling about today.

Anyone got a feeling we'll have our highest poession stat today? Pulis will set them up, hard to break down

Predicting 1 all today. Predicting them to rough up Bursik somewhat.

Sheffield Wednesday starting with two defensive midfielders and no recognised striker.
We all know how this ends, do we really want to subject ourselves to 90 minutes of torture?
