Looks like Jamaica will ensure Ric and Demar will play on Sunday against the Bahamas. I bet TP is sweating that Ric especially doesn't aggravate his injury and cause himself serious damage... Phillips and Fuller sustained respective ankle and knee injuries in Tuesday's match in St George's.
But Simoes seems confident both players, who will ply their trade in the English Premiership with Stoke City next season, will recover in time for Sunday's clash.
"I think Phillips looks much better... and Ricardo Fuller, I don't know, let's talk to doctors and see how he will recover for this game... We are pretty confident that both of them will play," he insisted.www.jamaicaobserver.com/sports/html/20080611T230000-0500_136646_OBS__I_M_ASHAMED_.asp

Kwesi Mugisa, Staff ReporterReggae Boy Ricardo Fuller is doubtful for the start of Jamaica's World Cup qualification campaign against the Bahamas tomorrow, after sustaining an injury in a bruising 1-2 loss to Grenada in their midweek friendly international.
The forward scored Jamaica's lone goal in the disappointing loss, but had to be substituted in the second half after a crunching challenge. Fuller, who plies his trade for promoted English Premier League (EPL) team Stoke City, despite being in gear, watched from the sidelines for most of the Reggae Boyz training session on Thursday.
Although named in the original starting line-up for tomorrow's game, technical director René Simoes now doubts the player will be totally healthy for the opening whistle.
"It's going to be very difficult for Fuller. I don't think he will be ready," Simoes said.
"I didn't want to say anything about Wednesday's game, but the play he got injured on was not only a penalty but the guy almost broke his leg. We lost Phillips (Demar) the same way," he added.
Excellent season
Coming off an excellent season for Stoke, Fuller netted 15 times and will be hoping to replicate that form for the national team.
Midfielder Phillips, who also plays for Stoke City, went through light training drills and is expected to be ready for the game.
In Fuller's absence, Luton Shelton, who represents English Championship division club Sheffield United, is expected to partner with Wigan's Marlon King up front in the starting line-up.
With the start of the qualifier only a couple hours away, the team's chemistry is still a source of concern for Simoes, who has several new players in a squad which consists of at least 18, who ply their trade abroad.

The last thing he needs is more blows on those dodgy knees of his though.
One knock in the wrong place and they could explode!

People- calm down
Says he got a knock and might miss Saturday's game. Nothing about his career being over or his leg falling off just yet.

www.jamaicaobserver.com/sports/html/20080614T200000-0500_136753_OBS_BOYZ_BID_FOR_GLORY.aspStoke City striker Ricardo Fuller will sit out today's game with what appears to be a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee. His place will be taken by the speedy Luton Shelton, who will partner ace striker Marlon King in attack.Hopefully this 'torn lateral meniscus' will prove to be something minor, with no long-term ill-effects. There doesn't seem to be any public hint at this stage that it's too serious. With his history, anything concerning his knee cartilage is a bit of a worry though.

Let's hope he rests up, and doesn't play in either of these 2 matches, and returns ready for July 10.

potters11, I agree. We don't want another Kenwyne Jones accident! (out for the year, apparently.) If it's one player I thought needed a break, in the close season, it's Ricardo.
