I thought you couldn't recall loans between windows? Swear I read something about if we’ve got a certain number of first team keepers injured we could recall between windows. I could be talking utter bollocks mind. You probably have a history, but in this case you are quoting Michael O'Neill correctly. What's more I hope it's true, because Gunn is never going to be good enough for us, certainly not at his wages, or So'ton, so we should start getting Bursik and Broome ready for the future, and to make Blondy a better keeper.

Under EFL rules, a team can sign a goalkeeper on an emergency loan provided all the professional goalkeepers currently in their squad are unavailable because they are either injured, suspended or away on international duty. Meaning of 'professional'? Blondy has made the bench, does that class him as such? On a pro contract I assume. No idea if Blondy is in that category.

What's the definition of a professional goalie here? We have 2 or 3 that are fit if it means being on a professional contract. Guessing there's a caveat though? Yep that’s the 64,000 dollar question that you and Dan pose🤔

What about Gazzaniga at Spurs as the emergency loan option? Third choice there now with Hart on the scene. Bit optimistic but maybe Romero at Man Utd might fancy some first team games to put himself in the shop window for January.

The way Romero has been treated by the shit is a disgrace.
As for us, I'd feel more comfortable with Bursik in goal instead of Blondy for sure.

Perfect time for a young goalkeeper to make a start. Without the added pressure of fans.
Please be better than Haugaard.

Lol.. So your judging him on one mishap. Good effort 👏🏻👏🏻.. What keepers dont make mistakes?! I've seen him quite a few times as take my nephew to Villa games when my bro can't make it & Stoke aren't playing so have seen him at close quarters from right behind the goal on the Holte End on a number of occasions. Im not saying he's a world beater or should be brought in as our full time keeper, as a stop gap, he'd definitely do the job! No. I’ve seen him many of times (only on tv though). He’s shite and shits himself whenever a shot goes near him Why do you think villa have signed several goal keepers whilst he’s been there including a keeper who should’ve been pensioned off years ago? A quick google would show up countless mistakes in a villa shirt The good old Google search of a player. The same Google searches that showed Brek Shea to be a world class footballer! Having seen him in action in the flesh I can say he'd be more than good enough to act as short term cover for us.. Villa fans liked him and he was at Villa at a time when they had good cover, Heaton was in pole position prior to getting injured and Jed Steer was a more than competent back up keeper at the time Nyland was there too. Folk on here were slagging Adam Davies's brief performances & mistakes off last season and look how he's been for us this season! Butlands been atrocious for us in the last couple of seasons, even losing his subs place for us on occasions this season but Premier League Palace have seen the potential in him & trusting him to be their back up keeper now. A good run for Palace if he gets a chance could really kick start his career back up.. Good back up keepers who are 3rd choice or out or contract and free agents are always going to be a gamble & potential risk. That's why they aren't playing regularly for a team. Who'd have ever thought Lee Grant would be as good as he was for us when we signed him from Derby when he was 3rd possibly 4th choice back then?! IMHO Nyland would do us a job. You clearly disagree, that's absolutely fine. But rather than commenting that he's shite coz you've seen him on the TV and done a quick google search, offer a suggestion of who you'd have in if your knowledge of keepers is so vast & meaningful

We’re relatively local assuming he lives around Manchester and he’d get guaranteed game time until Jan and then he’s free to go wherever Seems like a win-win

I think we should have faith in Bursik. A good opportunity. He will be on a high after being picked to represent his country.

Butland will be palace’s 3rd choice keeper not 2nd Nyland would be a terrible signing but for what it’s worth if he were to sign I would hope he does and would not be on his back for every little thing Show me where I’ve slagged of Davies when he signed for stoke and that comment would be relevant You know best though because you are always on the Holte end watching Villa.

I’ve never seen the lad play but what an opportunity for him. From what I recall similar happened to Mark crossley under clough at forest. Injuries to keepers so they brought him in. He never looked back. The message would be simple to young Joe, there’s the shirt, it’s now yours to lose. Go make a name for yourself kid

Out for 6 weeks apparently Wonder what he's done? I'm obsessed by knee injuries at the moment, primarily because I'm recovering from a serious one. Seems like Billy Gilmour at Chelsea had the same injury as I had. I'm racing him to get back fit!

Sadly such opportunities are often as a result of misfortune for someone else. England international, several loans. He's got a fantastic opportunity to fast-track himself into first team contention closer to the level he ultimately wants to play at. Let's hope he can make the most of it. I'm sure he can.

But I think signing him was a big mistake, because we have such talented keepers on our books, and he would only be holding them back, being an O'Neill signing he would have continued to pick him first.

Bloody hell that’s a blow, especially with Davies not due back for a month or so either.
Looks like it’s going to be Bursik who he goes with for the short term. Big ask for the lad and also the defence to protect him. For those fans who aren’t aware, young Bursik is a handy outfield player and has also been known to take dangerous free kicks like the old Paraguayan keeper Jose Luis Chilavert!
