Didn't get much wrong did he? Hopefully after the international break our back 4 will have Souttar and Collins at the heart of it because I was not happy with Batth - again. I also think TOB needs a few U23 games to learn how to hang on to the ball before he gets another run out in the first team.
But these are minor points - we were due some luck after what happened against Watford. But he picked a team today which deserved its luck. I thought the Reading defence were surprisingly fragile and MON picked a front four which capitalised on that fragility.
10 from me.

14!
No stupid subs today and out of position and keeping that donkey off the pitch altogether in cousins gets him bonus points.

9. He's a points machine.
Mark off because we genuinely looked stone cold pissed for the first 20 minutes.

If you don't get a 10 on your anniversary coming into a right shit show, and now winning away 3-0, then you're never going to get a 10.
10.

6 for his initial tactics but changed from 343 to 352 after we were getting overrun in midfield so an 8 overall.

9.5 for me. Everything spot on and every man on the pitch was at it from start to finish. Holding back .5 a point for the day that he turns Warnock or the like over.

9.5 Can't really expect a lot more from him.
One thing that MON does very well is to " keep everybody involved"...I'm a believer in " playing your best team".....but obviously MON knows best so he has been proved right. Everyone seems to want to play for him/ the club which is a good basis for success( I believe that Campbell signed a new contract because of MON, It is vital that we keep Campbell and Souttar. I think adding the experience of Fletcher may prove to be a masterstroke and Brown brings something different) there doesn't seem to be any nonsense in the squad....and MON is still learning League football at this level.

14! No stupid subs today and out of position and keeping that donkey off the pitch altogether in cousins gets him bonus points. It’s a squad game. The supporting cast are going to have to step up and play a part this season with the fixtures coming thick and fast. After the international break we’ve got 12 games left until the new year, there’s no way we get through all that without rotation of the squad.

10 from me. He doesn’t tell the players to act like they’ve just awoken from a coma for the first 20 minutes I’m sure. Constantly changed tactics to deny Reading who had run out of ideas after an hour. For that he has to be commended. I also like that he kept Campbell on for as long as possible without it being detrimental to the team👍🏻 Also the chopping and changing seems to have stopped, he knows his best available starting 11 which is a god send finally🙌🏻

Hard to give anything less than a 10.
However it could have been a very different story if we had conceded when we were atrocious for that first 20 mins.
We have played better and lost so I’ll take that all day

7- result outweighed performance.
Is this our first league win at Reading since the 4-3 under Lou in the early 90s? I can remember a cup win there under Brian Little but nothing much league wise.

His best day with substitutions and changes of shape. TOB didn’t do much but Collins and Brown were well-timed

10. Had a plan. Executed it perfectly. Thoughts on today, Chief? Just that really, that he got it completely spot on. We got away with a rocky first 20 but everything came off after that. Pressed them high and punished their fannying about with it at the back. Taking Powell off to galvanise the middle was the right move. We never looked in danger once we went ahead.

6 for his initial tactics but changed from 343 to 352 after we were getting overrun in midfield so an 8 overall. ?? He started with a back 4 like on Wednesday. Went to 3/5 at the back after half time when TOB came on and McLean went to left wing back and stuck with 5 at the back by sending Collins on to release McLean back up front when Fletcher came off. It meant the wing backs added a bit more defensively out wide as that was where they were causing us trouble.
