They've got this spectacularly wrong, a kids kit, zoom call with a player and a stream for the game for ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE POUNDS.
Someone actually thought this was a good idea 🙄

How long is the Zoom call? I'd like one if it was with Scholes. I'd have to dress up like Jimmy Krankie though.

I suggested this as an idea during the last meeting we had with the club, however I did state that it should be free. Stoke normally get it right in my opinion when making decisions for supporters inc. the red & white SC they planned to release, but I am disappointed with the price for this package. The idea was put forward to the club to keep young supporters engaged and feel apart of the club, never as a business opportunity which it has become. I have never liked the idea supporters pay to be a mascot, but that is another debate. If the club want to charge £125, the least they could offer is the chance to do it properly at no extra cost when the ground reopens for supporters.

The club have dropped a major bollock here and I suspect the council are fuming. The irony is just after the tweet for the mascot package this was put out
You couldn’t make it up🙄

I think it’s a decent idea tbh. 😂 It is a great idea. But at that price it’s stupid. It takes it away from kids who’s parents might not be able to afford that kind of money straight away. Anyone who does pay that is daft. £60/70 would be fair.

Anyone who does pay that is daft. 60 quid wouldn’t cover the full strip would it? And haven’t mascot packages always been exclusionist? The only thing I’d add would be a meet the players night in the future for anyone doing this so they can actually meet them, get pictures and autographs etc.

But I think it would more than cover the kit tbh. The stream and zoom call cost nothing in the grand scheme of things. Players time? Costs nothing and they’re paid handsomely anyway. Good idea for the meet and greet. 👍🏼

Certainly was free, although did have to wait on the waiting list for about 3yrs as in the good old days it was only 1x mascot per match so was always abit more personal & special than commercialised as it is now of course. You did have to supply own kit (which already owned so wasn't a problem) & pay for match tickets but was still all worthwhile.

Shame on whoever came up with that price.
I agree it's a great idea to keep young fans engaged, but the pricing is absurd.
I hope the Council gives them a right round of fucks over this.

The kit costs about £80 so a little above that would be fine and a decent little add on to a kit purchase for a stoke mad kid.

For a junior kit it's £68 without name & number. (+£12 with) £10 stream. £3.50 match day mag featuring mascot, face value comes in at £81.50 so therefore they're charging £43.50 for a zoom call to watch and interact with players.

Then the first question should be,why are they charging £80 for a child's kit !!!

Think we were part of the supporters club though i remember going on Margarets bus to away games

The mark up on football strips is huge. I don't have a problem with that, they are supposed to bring in a decent profit after all. But at a cost price of (probably) less than £20, to charge £125 for a mascot package is really taking the piss.

As Chair of the Council, I will be passing on all the comments regarding pricing on Monday at 9 am. As Mark Mills has stated, Council discussed the idea with the club, at no time was this price mentioned. Businesses charge what the market will accept, in the current situation we feel this price is ill advised. In addition Council also suggested that existing shirt sponsors might be contacted to see if they could cover the costs for those less fortunate who wished to take up the offer...........
Thanks again for all your thoughts on this.

Tenner max for the Zoom call. Money goes straight to club to cover running costs and pay the wages of non playing staff. Players get nothing, nada, not a penny. They get the warm glowing feeling of doing something positive and helping people in these shitty times. Any decent person (and I’d suggest most of our players seem it) would jump at the chance.

My boy is never out of his and pound per wear, they are the best value clothes purchase I make for them (alongside our purchases from terracesmenswear...the best clothes store in the world).

Football mascots is an industry in itself. Last season Everton were the most expensive at £718 including kit and 2 match tickets. West Ham we’re slightly cheaper at £700 but no kit supplied. At least 11 mascots per game and you see it’s a nice little earner over a season. Incidentally Stoke charged £250 last season including kit and 3 match tickets.
