6. Based on a half decent 1st half showing. We went away to a decent side and we were always in the game. The goal that wasn’t knocked the wind out of us through and we were very very poor 2nd half- barely stringing 3 passes together. Very poor use of the ball- something that’s become king a feature. This will improve I’m sure once Allen and Clucas are back to replace the vastly overrated Thompson. Got it wrong 2nd half with the sub in bringing (the inept) Jacob Brown on to play wide and then move him to wing back was baffling.
Batth’s 2 mistakes aside we’d look ok defensively so why change it? The brown sub was needless. He added nothing in an attacking sense. Personally I think he’s a poor signing, albeit a low risk punt. Not faulting lads attitude or effort- lads not good enough.
The almost immediate move to bring vokes on shortly after shows scatty thought - although Vokes made the Powell goal, but he should’ve just come on for fletcher. The penalty incident was a shit show- Powell’s mis control, Batth swinging and missing and Gunns schoolboy keeping.
That said- we should’ve come away with a point- which would’ve been a very good point.
Still think we’re not good enough to finish top 6. But we’ll go we between 13th and 7th and look like we could creep in - I think we’ll finish 10th- which’s fine for me given last season. It’s progress. O’Neill done a good job.

Happy with the starting lineup, but needs to improve how players can play in partnerships within a team, and the team needs to be more of a cohesive unit.

7 Thankfully he didn't start with the same line up as Swansea and the performance was better against a very decent side. Our two excellent goals deserved a point against Watford's 3 scrappy very fortunate goals. The bench looked weak and the return of Clucas Allen and Verlinden to the matchday squad would give him better options for game management.
