And at the same time UEFA are backing the latest increased Champions League system which will allow big clubs to qualify on previous European performances even if they finish out of their top qualifying positions. Disgraceful These were the concessions designed to ward off the breakaway!!!

Here’s my cynical take - this has all been made public today so the Champions League reforms (which themselves are ridiculous) look milder when they get waved through tomorrow.

I’m worried - I thought I was pretty much always in full on cynical mode but I hadn’t thought of that one. You have probably nailed it.

It’s a bit of irony that Gary Neville is reporting this whilst on Sky Sports, it’s true what he says, however the reforms need to start at the bottom of league 2
I think these English clubs will climb down

Let’s not take any moral high ground here also It’s been rumoured Stoke City are one of a few clubs mooting a premier league 2 Money is the root If necessary, we should hold our own club to account on such proposals as well. But we're already in the "Premier League 2". It's just not called that yet. and as for the inevitable European Breakaway League. The sooner the better. Less TV money for our national leagues, and we have plenty of other clubs ready to fill the void for the greedy so and so's left for those wishing/invited to leave. The solicitors are waiting in the wings ready to make a fortune.

Let them fuck off and their out of touch players too
Fuck Em
The grass is not greener. It’s not a product most European fans will want to see.
And there will still be a team at the bottom of that league getting battered every week

Like said above it’s just to make the new CL proposals not seem so bad.

Just needs the supporters of these 'chosen' clubs to boycott attending matches - in effect, going on strike against their own teams - and the whole thing will come crashing down.

Will never happen in a million years.
And if it did I’d be pretty excited. Even out the leagues over the next season or two, so it’s 20, 22, 22, 22. Happy days.

This is what happens when you let American owners into the biggest clubs in England. They have ZERO knowledge of the game and it's history with one goal, to make money. They find the concept of relegation absolutely baffling hence why they've always wanted rid of it and make the Premier League/Europe a lock in.
Also, the cheek of Arsenal and Spurs? Leicester have won a Premier League title more recently than Arsenal and Spurs haven't won a damn trophy in God knows how long. No wonder they're jumping at the chance of this.

Apparently Man City haven't agreed with it so fair play to them, if that turns out to be correct. The current spread of the “top 6” is 1-9 and only 2 currently are in a Champions League spot. Wankers the lot of them.
