They just won't let it go will they? No doubt it's the spanish clubs, oil money and yanks driving this 'new' idea. On the face of it yes playing devils advocate if somehow they can come up with an 80team league that is functional & is appetising to everyone < I'm not sure how it could be who wants to forgo a PL place to go to div 4 of a Euro league? & if not a straight 4 divisions the alternative is something akin to the Champions League, which already exists so what's the point? (money is the point of course) > However if they can & if genuinely based on merit & it's in effect linking all the national leagues in a giant pyramid where teams can go from the very lowest levels to the very top through sporting endeavour in principle theoretically could be persuaded atm would align myself with the view that if it goes ahead it will destroy club football across Europe/be at bets an absolute mess that only benefits a small number (half a dozen probably) clubs I've now read the link it's just replacing the Champions League from sporting aspect there's very little/no point to the proposed changes that I can see

With Man City now appearing to be in ffp trouble it wouldn't surprise me to see them throw their names in the hat for a founding member. They'll sell it to fans on the basis of being fucked over and I wouldn't blame them.

There are already teams wanting to get this up and running and ffp are making it more viable by the day.
