Remembering Life Before The Computer
1. Memory was something that you lost with age.
2. An application was for employment.
3. A programme was a TV show.
4. A cursor used bad language.
5. A keyboard was a piano.
6. A web was a spider's home.
7. A virus was the flu.
8. A CD was a bank account.
9. A hard drive was a long trip on the road.
10. A mouse pad was where a mouse lived.
11. And if you had a 3 1/2- inch floppy ... you just hoped no one found out!

Sinclair ZX81 Sinclair Spectrum 48k Commodore Vic 20 Commodore 64 Commodore Amiga BBC Micro Acorn Electron
The list goes on
Do you remember a magazine called Computer and Video Gamer. It used to have pages of code you could type into your Spectrum or Commodore for quality games.Except youd spend weeks typeing in 'poke' codes and the games never ever worked.

I remember seeing the ZX81 in a shop close to 30 years ago. It had a 1K (?) memory but it could be expanded to 16K. No one had ever heard abaout gigabytes then...
A friend of mine bought the Vic20 and it was a revolution. You could even buy cartridges with games. I wanted the Commodore 64 but it was too expensive, so I ended up with the ZX Spectrum with 48K memory. It was a nice computer but the keyboard was horrible. I remember spending hours upon hours typing in the game codes from different magazines just like Rob says. And then having to spend twice the amount of time looking for errors that I never found so the game never worked. The games was on music cassettes so it was darn easy to copy...but it took more than 5 minutes to load. The message "Loading errr" wasn't very popular then... Great memories!
