I’d say great thing is 4 more points than from the same fixtures last year but concerning is the performances that have achieved them due to their lack of fluency and any real forward threat . For me this system has to change and we have to get our quality And Pace up up in the top half of the pitch

He was Stokes best player and I did not see a Preston player who did more to get their team 3 points. Who was your man of the match ? You're making out as if Davies made save after save after save but we pretty much dominated the whole game after the Red card and he had not much to do. Oh and I would give it to Oakley boothe. We might have dominated possession but they had one less shot than us in total, the same amount on target and the same amount of corners. We were fucking lucky. But 3 points are 3 points and very welcome. H

However, the best Stoke player on the pitch second half was Davies. i.e the single individual that made a material individual contribution to retaining 3 points was Davies. You know. diving in at the feet of the Preston player when we went to sleep again. And thats another clean sheet. Happy to hear your Stoke MoM. I already said Oakley boothe

Lucky to win, even against 10 the system looked inadequate but before 10 men we were getting overrun.

Davies - man of the match by a country freakin mile... Let that sink in. Playing against 10 men for 70 minutes and your keeper is man of the match. Serious issues that need sorting quickly. A lot to work on. But 5 clean sheets from 6 games is a massive positive. We beat Derby under Rowett with 10 men for a large part of the game, it's not as easy as people think at times..... It should be, if you have players who can move the ball or can pass accurately. You don’t get too many games where teams go “ great we are 10 against 11”- especially when you have to play 70 minutes!

Surely we can be braver with the squad we have? It is going to be a hard slog trying to grind out 1-0 wins

Great 3 points but that was utter shit in the main. Agreed why we started with the wrong formation and left out some of our better players is a mystery and then not changing it against 10 Men

Good 3 pts, but, we ain't going to be playing against 10 men every week.
I'd start Tymon, Brown & Campbell v Birmingham, Fletcher to come on later later in games untill he's fully fit.

Agreed why we started with the wrong formation and left out some of our better players is a mystery and then not changing it against 10 Men To be honest, I'm not too fussed by the formation he puts out as long as his judgement is right and he owns it when he gets it wrong . We weren't that good against 10 men, thats football and typical of Stoke, but it's 3 points, it's an improvement on any start since going down. I personally don't think we will go up this year, but if he plays Collins, Souttar, Tymon and Boothe more often than not , see automatic promotion next year.

Thought we looked comfortable today. A work in progress but an away win at Preston is a great result. We should have got that second goal but I think that will come . Ince not even on the bench happy days

Excellent result. Average performance. + Oakley Booth eased himself into the game nicely. + Davies looks so much more solid than Butland. + Mikel showed glimpses of what's to come. + Soutter did OK. + Thought Fletcher showed some nice touches. + Some cracking crosses from Smith - Gave to many stupid free kicks away - Looked poor till they went down to 10 - Fox I thought was pretty average - Too many misplaced passes - Thought McClean and Clucas were poor today considering they're 2 of our best players. Going forward I think we'll get better as our players fitness improves. If Mikel gets the ball I think he'll be able to dictate play. We also have a decent pool of players. Onwards and upwards. 4 points from 3 games isnt bad especially as 2 of our games were away though the home defeat was a shocker. Still not convinced by 352. I think we'd be better with 4231. Think we missed Powell's class today. I know he was poor last game out v Bristol but technically other than Mikel he's our best player. Some of our control and passing today was woeful at times. Good summing up.
