One or both must be really close to regular first team action

After last Saturday I would have thought both must be close. Much calmer under pressure than Batth and their forward passes usually reach a Stoke man.

Shame the manager doesn't agree Are you Mystic Meg or an associate of Michael's? It's pretty obvious how he's the only one who rates Batth & Chester

Shame the manager doesn't agree Our last few managers wouldn't have even played them together for two full games, credit where it's due.....

They're so much more mobile and responsive than Batth and Chester. They'll probably drop a few more conspicuous clangers along the way but to an extent you have to accept that when you're blooding youngsters.

I’ll be really wound up if we see Batth and Chester both playing at the weekend.
The thing is as well, if we somehow manage to make it out of this league, what have they got left to prove? They can’t play any better than they currently are. Souttar and Collins could do.

Collins, Souttar and BMI should be the first choice back 3 now.
Chester, Batth, Fox should be their understudies.
Shawcross, Wimmer, Lindsay should be the understudies' understudies.
We've probably got a few more centre-halves in the building somewhere as well.

Get rid of those pair and I’d probably shift BMI if there were any takers

As much as I love the man, his body's been telling him for 2 years that it's had enough. He can see out his contract here by all means, but it's over now and he probably knows that.

I’d at least like to see one of them instead of Chester. Batth still has a bit of credit in the bank for me but he’s on thin ice with these two around.

I don't see as many stoke games as most of you so alot of my opinions are based from these forums and stats.
Surely batth deserves a bit more time though, he scored in 3 of the final 4 games in which Stoke achieved 10/12 points which in turn kept them in the division.

Correct ... also the manager played a different system to what he is doing now and we won games and dominated them ...we not now

A central defender should be judged on his defending alone. The goals were a welcome bonus, but he’s error prone and poor on the ball in my opinion.

It was a much more adventurous version of what we've been playing of late, Powell was being pushed much further forward than he is now for example.
