Shit like the numerous murders that occurred as he took over the aluminium business in Russia, murders that mysteriously ceased once he'd gained control

Abramovich never makes a move without Putins approval. Certainly murders (Although maybe not the stakes in footballers)

The FA (like many organisations in this country) should have been lobbying government YEARS AGO for far stricter laws on this sort of thing. It has always been the case that if something is legal, even if not morally right, someone somewhere will use it to their advantage. Governments of all political persuasions have never bothered to legislate strongly against things like money laundering, tax avoidance, tax havens, opaque ownerships of companies and assets etc. etc. Anyone remember when no one knew who actually owned Leeds United - other than the owners themselves? Whoever they were! I don't see things changing for the better whilst the current government is in charge - a government which can legislate to break the terms of an international treaty it signed less than a year ago is not going to lead the efforts to drain the swamp!

Unfortunately nothing will change it I'm pretty sure this shit was going on under Blair if I remember correctly didnt they throw millions at a charitable organisation that turned out to be run by a fraud. It happens I read the other day 250million has been returned to the government for furlough payments not needed etc. Then in the next sentence they said 3.5billion had be paid to fraudulent claims. Fooball pales in comparison to this kind of stuff.

Apathy will probably win the day though!

Apathy will probably win the day though! Crooks have been around for a long time and regardless of what rules or bodies are in charge they will exploit it anyway they can and steal and defraud. People won't stand for reform they cry foul and its unfair when mistakes are made no political party has the courage to "clamp" down regardless of the good things done, one innocent person can undo it all with ease they just jump on the negative and undermine it. Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind but "we" wont stand for it.
