Back to back wins, I've an uncomfortable feeling they may escape league 4 this season?

Yeah I think they’ll do well. They’ve got some good players and are finally weening themselves off the ineffectual lump Pope.
I’ve watched the odd game of theirs over the last 3 years and he’s so bad. My cousins all of which are Vale ST holders can’t abide him. But your average Vale fan wouldn’t have anything bad said against him. But he limited them despite the goals. They had one dull tactic and they’re a better team without him.

Just caught some of P & G. The Vale fans seem to think promotion & the League 2 title is already in the bag!

Back to back wins, I've a bad feeling they may escape league 4 this season? Stoke-on-Trent is big enough for two professional clubs. Are Stoke supporters big enough?

Just caught some of P & G. The Vale fans seem to think promotion & the League 2 title is already in the bag! They are the same every September. Only thing missing at minute is their annual "we'll be playing you next season" quip.

I expect Vale will streak into a lead in the Division, then the league competition will be scrapped due to a combination of Coronavirus and its successor, and then by that time a financially struggling Vale will, for want of a better word "Fail.". . .

Isn't this something like five years running that Gods has started this thread? Like Benjamin Bumhole's annual prediction of relegation for Stoke, he'll be right one year.

Only thing missing at minute is their annual "we'll be playing you next season" quip. There's a huge difference this time since Askey arrived a the tail end of the 18/19 season they've played decent football, are highly organised and effective and don't fear any other team on the division. They've kept a very good squad together and added to it. As Bayern says above they're a more dynamic outfit without Pope. The second thing in their favour is the new owners.

Askey is a decent bloke as are the rest of his family.
Good luck to them. The biggest battle they face is not going bankrupt, like many other clubs.

Who did they beat today, The Fox & Duck?
They might have a better chance this season than usual due to the only two big clubs, Bolton and Bradford, being an absolute shambles, so they may yet realise their dreams of playing Buton, Fleetwood and Accrington in the higher division next season. But they're still a bunch of louse-ridden wankers who can't book a plane for the right day 😎

Plus, my cousin scored for them today!
Happy days.

I have got close family members who support our noisy neighbours but the only goodwill they will get is that I don't want them to fold.Languishing in the depths of the football league is heaven ,it keeps their (small)deluded fan base in their place. Each to their own but no Vale love-in from me.I remember the crap we had to endure from them when they finished above us a couple of times.

The Shanahan’s and Askey have done a great job at The Vale, I’d be really surprised if they don’t make at least 4th. Most of their fans are perfectly sane, although even those that are, find it difficult to say anything remotely positive about Stoke; but when 99% of your existence has been as a team hardly known outside of Div 1 or Div 2, you would expect that level of enduring bitterness. Even now they are still a whole league below the Roy Cropper XI.

Good luck to the Vale my hairy ass.
They were all celebrating with Manchester City fans the day they beat us in the Cup final. Some were even in pubs and bought Man City tops for it.
Lest we forget the plane over the Brit, even though it was on the wrong day.
I hope they rot.

They should be top 5 this season Many Stoke fans used to watch both clubs years ago and some chose to watch the reserves in the old Central League when the first team were away. We were football fans in those days and not so choosy where we got our footie fix every weekend.I never got excited at a Vale match but it was marginally better than shopping "up Hanley duck". As a child I even saw a game or two at the old Hanley ground and in the year that ground closed they transferred winger Ronnie Allen to West Brom and there he became an England player. He went to school at Hanley High.

The day Palace beat us was Vale’s biggest result in years. It’d be nice to see them finally celebrate something that their own club achieved.
