That was such a great bonus surprise! tbh I went into tonight expecting not a lot - and we're still not exactly playing the beautiful game but lose more than half the starting XI (against higher league opposition with a £35M player on the pitch) and our bloody-minded strength's still there. Fantastic to see Brown on the score sheet, many more to come hopefully.
9 from me

Set us up from the back and gave the youth a chance to shine, which they did.
We never looked lost against a side with a lot of pace and flair.
Our new guys seem to have integrated themselves straight away, which is more than can be said about most newcomers in recent windows.
Good job Michael!

9.5.. he clearly motivated the team excellently at half time and made well chosen subs. He certainly seems a helluva manager

Find me a fault. 10/10
Truth be told I wrote the game off and I’d still rather 3 points Sunday, however that was a fantastic display. Dare I say we looked like the stoke of old. I really do think the good times will be back under MON

10 ! A thoroughly unexpected result - a confidence inspiring victory away from home, Adama Traore kept quiet for 90 minutes. Hats off to O'Neill for positive talk beforehand, stated he'd field a side capable of winning and meant it. Souttar & Collins ! (the future's so bright I gotta wear shades..)
Our season is starting to shape up.

Got to be a 9 or a 10 hasn't it?
I have to admit my heart sank when I saw the number of changes he had made to the starting eleven. I'm all for giving youngsters a chance but the number he played last night seemed a few too many. It is quite clear that I know nothing and MON knows a lot. I thought Collins, Soutter, Tymon and TOB all had excellent games.
MON also seems to have a knack of getting his half time talks right. Well though the defence played in the first half I couldn't see us keeping Wolves out if the second half repeated the pattern of the first. Sure enough for about the first 15 minutes after half time our midfield managed to control the game. Even though they were not able to maintain that pressure the whole team seemed to get a lift from that spell and Wolves seemed to have started to realise that they MIGHT be on the end of an upset.
The addition of Fletcher and Brown worked the same magic as it did against Millwall. The difference being that, whilst Brown had no luck with his penalty appeal last Saturday he got a slice of luck in the Wolves keeper having a limp wrist at just the wrong time. And what a brilliant built up to the goal - ANY Premier League team would have been proud of that build up.
MON has given himself a problem now. He's always had too many players to choose from - but never had 11 who were really worthy of a start. He now has 15 or 16 who are worthy of a start and keeping them all happy and choosing his best eleven and formation won't be easy. But it will be exciting watching him try to find his best team for each game.
I'll give him a deserved 9.5 - I doubt if I will ever give any Stoke manager a 10 unless it is for a cup final or a game in the Prem.

10.
Thought his pre match comments were a little harsh on the kids, about maybe having to sell them if they couldn't step up, especially given the task at hand.
However they and we were full value for the win. I've noticed one or two outlets in the media claiming it was a smash and grab style victory, which I'm sorry is wrong. We got what we deserved to get.
An excellent victory.

Great Management and organisation resulted in a stand out performance.
Some of the defeatist claptrap written on the match thread after the team was announced was embarrassing.
Ye of little faith.

10. The whole was infinitely more than the sum of our parts.
Set the team up well. They all did a great job. Limited Wolves to very little attacking-wise & kept us in the game.
The subs were not only effective (what a refreshing change!), they made a tiring Wolves look like they were stuck in concrete.
And one of the very best things, BMI had Traore nailed for most of the game. The rare occasions he got by, McLean was on hand to muller him. Making BMI captain was inspired in retrospect.
Anyone giving MON 9.5 or less must be a closet Benji Biscuit

10 can there be any other score? We beat a premiership team away and never looked in danger of not winning. yes people can say Wolves fielded a weakened side but on paper so did we. Gouranga.

However they and we were full value for the win. I've noticed one or two outlets in the media claiming it was a smash and grab style victory, which I'm sorry is wrong. We got what we deserved to get. An excellent victory. I thought it was a smash and grab tbh. A well planned and perfectly executed smash and grab. He played a system with some creative outlets (TOB, Tymon) that still blunted an expensive attacking line. Then after tiring Wolves out and getting them used to our 1D forwards he completely switched gears with Brown and Fletcher. We got lucky too. It wasn't a great shot and they missed a sitter. Could easily have gone 2-0 Wolves and we'd be grumping about a boring loss. I'd say tactically we could do better and play a more interesting way with a stronger team. Strategically it was a masterfully calculated risk that had tiny downsides but came good. We rested our most important forwards and gave other players, especially the kids, a chance to impress. And Collins/Souttar definitely came good for me, gives me some real hope and excitement. MON gets a 9/10 from me.
