And he wonders why people don't like him as much as Federer and Nadal. The guys an arrogant gobshite, you only have to look at his behaviour during Covid when he put on that stupid tournament in Serbia.

It's careless but looks completely accidental. A fine should have been enough.

Federer is perhaps the best champ of them all. His conduct is faultless. A proper gent. There was a great advert recently with him playing these young girls at tennis from one block of flats to another.

Handy that Amazon Prime had Tiger Tim in the studio tonight, 25 years after he was disqualified for the same thing at Wimbledon.

Jock O'Vitch should learn from his fellow Scot Andy Murray about class and staying calm under pressure.

Jock O'Vitch should learn from his fellow Scot Andy Murray about class and staying calm under pressure. Speaking of Scotland... This was deemed worthy of a yellow card!

Jock O'Vitch should learn from his fellow Scot Andy Murray about class and staying calm under pressure. Speaking of Scotland... This was deemed worthy of a yellow card! Our own John Ritchie did exactly the same thing to a fan in the Butler Street Paddock. The fan was concussed and taken to hospital where JR had the decency to visit the fan the next day.

It's a twattish thing to do by the Partick player, and no surprise to see Scott Brown get straight involved! When your best player is Scott Brown, you must know you're playing a dreadful standard of football, so no surprise they got dumped out of the CL at home the other week.
Re Djokovic, it's good that tennis has standards of behaviour, much like rugby and golf. You either agree to abide by them as part of playing the game or suffer the consequences. I remember Dylan Hartley getting sent off for telling the ref to fuck off (although he still maintains it was towards a player, not the ref) and that should be the approach in all sports. McEnroe freely admits he'd have curbed his behaviour if he'd been disqualified just once instead of indulged repeatedly.

Stupid of him but she pulled a bit of a Paul Alcock from what I saw My first thoughts exactly However I dont know how they are still allowed to hit spare balls away. What’s wrong with hand rolling them to the net ballboys/girls

I can’t believe what a furore there’s been about it. It’s not like he assaulted the woman, he accidentally tapped a tennis ball into her neck.

I can’t believe what a furore there’s been about it. It’s not like he assaulted the woman, he accidentally tapped a tennis ball into her neck. It shows contempt for the officials. The guy has the ability to knock that ball just about anywhere on the court and he did not need to hit the ball that hard and he could have hit it away from anyone. Why even use that force in the vague direction of the woman? He could have easily tapped it away harmlessly. If the ball was hit a couple of feet either side of the woman it would have be intimidation.

1 year later and he’s won every slam since and has a golden chance to win the grand slam / move ahead of federer and Nadal for total slams.
He’s the legit GOAT and I think it will feel official if he wins tonight, although tennis fans are a weird lot and there will def be fed/Nadal fanboys still trying to argue otherwise. Medvedev def no write off though, it’s his 3rd slam final and maybe this is his time?

We're coming to the close of the greatest era of men's tennis as the talent of the top four players (Murray being the forth) has been astonishing. Any one of them would have been dominant in a different era (assuming Murray could stay fit). When you say that Tennis fans are a weird lot for rating Fed and Nadal over Djokovic, I think it's more about personality than achievement, as I agree that Djokovic is on course to beat them all. Shame he's a twat.

Shame he's a twat. Murray is underrated for sure. People judge on total slams but the reality is he achieved what he achieved in the era of probably the 3 greatest players of all time, + a few other top quality players below Murray. Can’t agree on Djokovic being a twat. It’s a commonly held view and I just don’t get it. He has a few animalistic moments on court but so do the others. Off court he’s always come across as a total class act. He’s a good winner but an even better loser. Nadal for example is always too consumed in his own disappointment when he loses big matches, Djokovic always embraces his opponent. And in his interview Djokovic always comes across as a lovely intelligent guy. I don’t understand why people have a bad perception of him other than the few moments where he loses his temper with himself on court, but I don’t think that’s a fair stick to beat a champion with. Shame for him tonight, it was clear early on he was spent physically but Djokovic being Djokovic I just expected him to play a monstrous point out of nowhere and for the whole match to turn on a dime. It never came though and you have to give credit to Medvedev.
