Huge misjudgement from Southgate Well Southgate has a lot of thinking to do Can a convicted criminal serving a current sentence play for England let alone be captain Maguire is not England's captain; Harry Kane is.

I'm sure he followed legal advice but I always think your chances are better if you turn up at your own trial to offer some first hand explanation rather than send your dad !

So if a Stoke player that was good enough to play for his country embarrassed the club by punching a copper, you'd be happy to see him playing for England?? You do realise he hasn’t even been charged yet? Not looking so great for Maguire now he's been axed from the England team eh?

You had him hung before he’d been charged...that was my point He's now been arrested, charged and found guilty on all three charges, he is now a criminal serving a suspended sentence including aggravated assault and bribery not really a surprise he's been dropped, he's very lucky not to be doing time in Greece for his actions if he was not a pro. footballer he probably would be, "do you know who I am", "I am very rich I will pay you to let us go" what an arrogant ass hole.

Wow, a trial a couple of days later, conviction based purely on police witness statements produced to the defence the night before trial?
I never realised Greek justice system was so backwards and corrupt.
Tbh I believe the account given by Maguire's lawyer

Although found guilty I think he's been fucked over here. The arrogant tw*t tried to bribe the Police after assaulting one of them, "do you know who I am" "I am rich" what a knob. From what they have said. I'm not having it myself.

End of the day if he had a brain cell in that slab head he would have stayed out of mither He’s lucky to get away with it and Southgate and Solskjaer should make an example of him. Plus he should be made to make a public apology.

Sorry who has said ? a policeman kicked him, his sister was injected with a date rape drug really obviously the judge laughed those out of court, there were obviously witness statement's that were credible.

Quite the rap sheet that No big deal according to some on this thread. We shall see. Some countries have legal systems which allow convicted defendants where the offence carries a prison sentence to buy their freedom. Dunno if Greece is one of them or not. I hadn’t paid any attention to it until I saw that tweet. Has to be sent down surely bar like you say a buy out?

May be completey wrong but he's never come across as a big time Charlie. It's hard to argue against a guilty verdict that a court of law has decided upon but it all seems a case of believing the Police.

Southgate will probably have some “Free Dierdre Rashid” style t shirts for the squad to wear before their next game. The wet lettuce! Drops Sterling for having an argument with a teammate in training but names a bloke who’s assaulted a police officer, resisted arrest and offered a bribe in his squad. All whilst COVID is going on. Thick as two short planks.

If it came out not guilty he would still be in the squad. If he dropped him prior to the verdict he would have jumped to the wrong conclusion.

He really should be doing time. If some other lardy piss heads end up doing the same thing ona Greek Island next summer and face prison, surely they can hold up the Maguire verdict as their defence??

He couldnt be seen to pass judgment.
