Should never be allowed to pull an England shirt on ever again. Not necessarily bad news for Harry. Getting any shirt on over that monstrosity of an ‘Ed can’t be pleasant. Every cloud.

Court suspended for the day. All rise. Case will continue tomorrow. PeterPan 1 has made a swift decision thanks to evidence from “The Sun” and passed sentence already mate Any advance on the lifetime England ban?

Certainly it was the chosen destination for a large number of gay people a few years ago. Probably because of that it is now very fashionable and expensive with a lot of luxury accommodation hence its appeal to Prem footballers. I must admit it would not be by Greek Island of choice unless you escape the resort areas and go in land. The resort areas are about as far from an authentic Greek experience as its humanly possible to get!

Spending a 2nd night in the cells. Not passing sentence, just giving an opinion if it's proven. You were doing really well on the opening sentence and then used, 'The Mail Online' to reinforce your point.. 😬

I admit to a slight bias...Comes across as an entitled prick and nasty cheating grafter on the field, probably a spoiled brat off the field. But...If he was a Stoke player - I'd say he's a handsome rogue who does what it takes for the shirt, gives back to the community and is probably being framed by the Greek authorities. Since he's not a Stoke player - I select the former.

It said on the news that one of the 3 arrested had offered the cops money to let them off so he was now being charged with offering a bribe. It didn’t specifically say it was Slab but it doesn’t take much to imagine the arrogant thick fucker Trying to pull a stunt like that. Edit. I bet he said “Do you know who I am” as well. 🤣 Probably tried to be cheap git. Though if it was as violent a confrontation as they say, he’s probably not getting off with a bribe.

Back in the Prem days Shawcross could've gone on a Raul Moat style rampage and I'd have still been advocating for his England call-ups.

I'd assumed people had read the news reports and that he was facing charges. Life really is too short to be pedantic.

Media now reporting “Attempted Bribery” ! !
Bloody arrogance of these Neveau Rich lowlifes.
No doubt MU will be jetting out top lawyers from Athens to smooth the troubled waters, speaking to ministers, whilst telling the media “No further comments”
The Greeks will hopefully fine him heavily, lock him up for a couple of weeks, and then escort him back to the airport in handcuffs and send him home.
If Carling (or Mythos ) did justice 😀
EDIT. Reports on BBC this morning make no reference to the alleged Bribery Charges. Don’t the Media just love this Shit and hide and distort the truth. Meanwhile over to Athens and the Greek reporter there let’s it out on live TV !! His very expensive top notch Lawyers will probably negotiate a large undisclosed fine in exchange for a custodial sentence. If it was Barry from Fenton he would be locked up for a few months.⚓️

Far from the worst crime ever.

Not a big deal at all, he should carry on being captain of man utd and carry on playing for England and deal with his problems in Greece himself, who gives a fuck?
Seems like a good guy who had a bad night, probably provoked.

I’ve just heard on the news that he’s been released without charge.
Apparently Sir Alex Ferguson contacted the Greek police after which they reviewed video footage of the incident, released Maguire without charge, sacked the 3 policemen involved and awarded a penalty to Manchester United.

If he's been fighting with a couple of pissed lads, it's really not a big deal, is it? Far from the worst crime ever. IF (big if, and not yet proven) he has attempted to bribe a police officer AND assaulted a police officer, then it would certainly be regarded as quite a serious crime if he had done it in the UK. Hopefully, the Greeks will treat the alleged offences with the same seriousness that we would, give him a fair trial, and throw the book at him if he is found guilty. If he is found not guilty then he will, hopefully, have learned something from the experience.

I think it's funny as fuck if he has tried to bribe a Police Officer. If I was in my 20's, pissed up and a shit load of money in my bank, it's exactly the move I'd have pulled

If he's been fighting with a couple of pissed lads, it's really not a big deal, is it? Far from the worst crime ever. To be honest mate the fighting with the pissed lads isn’t the issue. Although you do have to question what a professional athlete only a week or so away from major games is doing so pissed he loses control and reacts no matter what the provocation. Walk away. No the issue is that having got in that situation he (and his mates) reacted so violently to the police intervention and was so arrogant he thought he could buy his way out of it when if he hadn’t been off his face he might have realised that a ‘hands up’ sorry approach might have seen the situation calmed down with no arrests and no adverse publicity. We’ve all been there abroad and generally if it’s Brits fighting Brits the local police don’t give a shit unless it impacts on locals or one of their own gets injured. Then they can massively overreact. Like they have. Maguire is clearly a ginormously arrogant bellend. However, the calls for him to be ‘stripped of the shirt’ are ludicrous. Oh how we used to laugh at Ric’s driving antics. It made him even more of a legend whereas driving for yonks with no licence or insurance (Albeit a technicality) is potentially far worse than a bit of a dust up in Greece. But I don’t recall anyone clamouring for Ric to be sacked.

His actions have had probably barely any impact at all on the lives of even those involved, who themselves have decided to make a big deal out of it because he's a footballer.

There is always a lot of faux outrage about when anyone famous falls foul of the law. Whether or not it is regarded as a "big deal" is subjective, I suppose. I am merely pointing out that assault on a police officer and attempted bribery mean that, if he is convicted on those charges, he could face a much more serious punishment than a conviction for affray (or whatever the Greek equivalent is) which is all he would have faced if he had complied with the police instructions when they intervened after the fight with other tourists broke out.

Assaulting a police officer is not a big deal it is in England and I am pretty sure it is in Greece maybe not in Scotland.
