Just seen this BJR, a complicated guy with some demons but a hell of a musician , and seemed to get his mojo back in later life, RIP Greeny

Desperately sad about Peter Green, and will always be a legend for his playing, not least his contribution to the birth of hard rock at the end of the 1960s with Fleetwood Mac. I’d definitely say that Peter Green at the Wheatsheaf was that venues biggest ever coup.

A truly wonderful guitar player...one of the best! Struggled with his mental health like many geniuses.
A sad, sad day.
RIP

A combination of acid and an already troubled mind can sometimes lead to awful consequences. The whole German Jet Set episode changed things for a lot of people, forever.
Still an absolutely belting song ...
RIP Peter

This feels like the second time that the music world has mourned for Peter Green. The guy was an absolute genius but as said above, the decline in his mental health and his withdrawal from the world was almost like a premature death. I'm sure I remember reading that he threatened to shoot a postman who kept delivering him royalty payments for his massive hits like Albatross and Black Magic Woman. Rest in peace PG

Anybody here see him play at the Wheatsheaf in Stoke back in the 90s?

A true legend of the British blues boom of the 60's and a massive influence for so many people. Wrote some brilliant tunes as has been said. Always remember one of the teachers at primary school used to put Albatross on for us to chill out to after p.e! Loved it ever since. For me "Oh Well" is up there with the greatest guitar riffs of all time. RIP. Pete, thanks for the music.

Magnificent guitarist.
Hope he's trading sublime blues licks with Gary Moore and a few others right now.

One of rock and roll's acid casualties. Along with Brian Wilson and Syd Barret.
RIP.
