As soon as they equalised they looked like they were content to try and see the match out for a 1-1 and dropped the tempo and pace right down. What a strange piece of management. Play with caution yes but as we've seen many times it's a perilous thing to do. They never looked like a play off team though and anyone not knowing the table positions wouldn't have thought Stoke were facing a real possibility of relegation just 3 games ago. Gouranga.

They paid the price for missing some glorious chances in the first half. We were there for the taking and they fucked it up.

Paid the price for being a garbage outfit.
We'll be out of sight of this rabble next season.

For the hard of thinking, as it stands now, Swansea need a five goal swing in half an hour.
Half an hour later their forum is in meltdown, like a tragic comedy π

Just been reading the Forest match thread on the Forest site. A lot keep referring to tonight as being more embarrassing than Yeovil. What happened with Yeovil ? Anyone ?

I think they were fairly fortunate to be in the contest anyway in truth. Lamouchi has done a steady job and their manager turnover has been insane for the last decade or so. But he does have the tendency to shut up shop after scoring and hope for the best.
Post lockdown, it's really cost them dearly. They conceded late on against Derby after Worrall gave away a brainless freekick and they were played off the park by Barnsley. Even when we played them under Jones I thought they were exceptionally fortunate to win the game.
Them and Charlton are perfect examples of luck not always being sustainable. Charlton were absolutely flying early doors and many people actually analysing their play said they'd be dragged firmly down, and so it has come to pass.

Forest are a counter attacking team, they didn't know what to do at 1-1 and were afraid to go forward at that point. They certainly are not good enough for the Premier league, and even if they were lucky enough to get there they would have come straight back down.We were toying with them most of the game.

They were a weird team. They were happy to play tippy tippy at the back, but also played with no discernible midfield. It's been a while since I've seen the ball aimlessly ping pong between two teams like that.
For the second time in a week, we saw the complete mental disintegration of a team. It's almost fitting, since we should have been out of sight against them at home but folded once they equalised.

Donβt we just love being under the radar.
BBC Breakfast news this morning reported that Forrest dropped out of the play off places due to a late own goal !
No mention of Stoke and that we beat them 4β1. π

To be fair they've blown it since the restart. I don't think they were ultra defensive, it's the way they play relying a lot on Joe Lolley but we did a great job on him. They were never really worthy of a top 6 finish and I think before lock down momentum and confidence would have carried them through but they found it difficult to pick that up once the season recommenced. I'm sure at one point round about Christmas if you looked at chances created at both ends of the pitch both us and Forest were in massively false positions. They had scored virtually every chance they created. Fair dos we were where we were because we needed several chances to score but seemed to concede every time the opposition got a chance. On the other hand the opposition just didn't seem to be able to take chances against Forest. Last night that was reversed and to be honest we could have been 2-0 down after 30 minutes.

Our own schadenfreude apart, surely the more logical Forest fans will appreciate that they threw away the playoff place with their dreadful form in the last six games, not just the last one. It was a bit mean of us to wreck their GD though

They paid the price for challenging our founding date. 2nd best feeling all year dicking them out of a playoff spot is, only beaten by mathematical safety.

Unlikely but of course not impossible Sadly feigning injury got the Red card for Reading which should be overturned. Though in Swansea's defence the referee gave Reading what Swansea would call a Moses penalty, though this time their was not foul.
