He's been a breath of fresh air recently, other than the madness v. Boro. His attacking quality could still be better but his work rate has been really good. I like how he'll loiter a dozen metres away from someone then at the right time, sprint to close them down. He's got a very good football brain.
According to TransferMarkt his contract is only to 2021, I really hope we are offering him an extension.

Really hoping we hear something positive about this before the season starts, really don't think we've seen the best of Powell yet

Would imagine that transfermarkt year is wrong - they often get things wrong
Surely it's 2022?

I've gone through the sentinel/club articles from when he signed but no mention of contract length. Fingers crossed it's 2022 đ¤đ

Would imagine that transfermarkt year is wrong - they often get things wrong Surely it's 2022? We've already discussed this in a previous thread. I believe 2 years is correct. There would have been a reluctance to offer him more, because of question marks about his injury record and ability to settle in on the club's part, and reluctance on the player's part because of the downward spiral of the club in contrast to his own ambitions of playing at a higher level.' What we don't know is whether someone sat down with him at some point and added another year.

Yeah - it's all complete speculation, as with a lot of recent contracts as we've started this trend to not release the information in all cases. There's no particular reason why transfermarkt would have any insight though, is there? They just go off public sources and top it up with guesswork of their own. I'd still guess at three, although two is definitely feasible for the reasons you give.

But it's probably a good deal more reliable than all other outlets of the British press.

I'm one of those fans that loves a workhorse - Darrell Russell remains one of my favourite all time players. I think Powell covers an immense amount of ground and not only that he puts a tackle or challenge in when he gets there. I'd love to see the distance stats to see whether I'm wrong on this or it's his reputation or even just the fact he mercurial player and is assumed he doesn't do the work.

I would love to know what went on with Jones and not playing Powell. It was claimed he was injured but I suspect there was more to it.
As soon as Mad Nath left Powell seemed to recover and he has been excellent ever since. âď¸

One of those where the club were damned if they did and damned if they didn't.
Had he been given an initial 3 or 4 year deal this place would of imploded.
It's only a few months ago he was an injury prone , idle waster.
Check the comments after his red v Boro for confirmation.
Hindsight eh....

I once saw Daryl Russell in an Indian restaurant in Uttoxeter - but I couldn't be arsed to speak to him.

Hopefully now he's got a run of games under his belt and his confidence is up we'll see more of this Nick Powell next season...

You must absolutely love Allen Less than you'd think. One of the reasons I took to Darel is he'd get a fair amount of grief from the crowd but in certain games he'd be the only one that bothered. I remember him wrestling a Tamworth player to the floor when the rest of the team had no fight in them whatsoever, he appeared to play with a huge amount of personal pride. On the other hand Joe McShusshy was quick to start calling the crowd out when the club and he were going through very poor form and I still think the players got off lightly for many abject performances.

I still try to figure out what he's good at ... I suspect you are in a minority Musik. I'd say that Powell probably has the best footballing brain of anyone in the squad - possibly matched by Mikel and we will know more about that in the coming months. He often seems to see possibilities far quicker than his colleagues and hopefully will become even more influential as he is joined by better players like Fletcher and Mikel. He's also surprised me by his "bottle" - he certainly doesn't hide when the going gets tough.
