Having a goalkeeper would be worth an easy 20 points Just keep playing Davies

That's the beauty of the Championship. It's very difficult to predict.
For example, in November 2015 David Wagner went to Huddersfield Town and took 36 points from 30 games and finished in 19th place with 51 points. The following season he took them up through the play offs after finishing 5th.
Who knows what will happen?

I think there is a LOT of work needed on getting the squad down to a manageable size and filling obvious gaps before we can even start to think of promotion.
I'd be more than happy with a season of mid-table safety next year while MON clears out some of the crap.

Yes we can, was talking with the other half and saying that only Leeds really have battered us. We really have been the masters of our downfalls this season. Calamity keeping to defensive mix ups and missed opportunities. Cut out the mistakes and with confidence we will learn to be more ruthless up front when given opportunities

It'll help having more than -14 points after the first 20 games or whateverthefuck hole Nathan put is in this season.

How many points has Butland cost us this season? Just having a competent goalkeeper could be worth an extra ten points or so.

The table since MON came in puts us very safe with interest in the playoffs. That'll do nicely.

Our form under MON would put us on 69 points if it was replicated over the whole season. That's pretty much play-off territory with the players we have now.
Not saying there isn't a big job to do, but if you look at it from a glass half full point of view, there's no reason we can't have a damn good season with the right signings.

A decent LB Ditto DM 2 wingers A back up keeper and who knows
With the current points tally we'd be on 67, as he's won 41 in 28, so just outside the play offs
With the above additions an extra 10 points is realistic

Well, we'll have 15 extra games with MON next time around. As I've mentioned elsewhere, we earn 1.5 per game with him. 15 x 1.5 = 22.5. Last season we got 8 points from those first 15, so if we continue with our current PPG under MON that's an extra 14.5. I'm reasonably confident a full MON pre-season and a little more time for him to build his own squad should cover the rest of the 2.5 points extra you reckon we need. I personally have every expectation we will be right in the mix for the play off spots next season!

Not getting carried away - the stats tell us all we need to know. If the board want to go back up, and they shift players on, and trust MoN to re-build and re-model what we have, a play off spot shouldn't be out the question.

Stats tell us everything and I genuinely feel if we had MON since the start we'd be fighting for a playoff place. Back this man.

I will add that we have actually, statistically, been very very unlucky this season. Our xG stats (which are becoming a pretty serious analysis tool, and seem to be the best predictor for genuine performance at the moment) suggest that we have been the unluckiest team in the league. Our expected goals against, in particular, is much lower than the amount we have actually shipped (which I suppose also shows how desperately poor Jack has been). If our luck reflected our performances this season we would actually already be in the playoff positions right now. Now - luck evens out over time (and getting rid of Butland won't hurt either) - so I am sure we will be right up there next season These stats websites track xG, and according to them, xG performance suggests that we should currently be around 4th in the table - DESPITE the awful start. Although I will add that the awful start was part of this xG disparity - we had absolutely no luck under Jones and our results undersold our performances. experimental361.com/2020/07/17/expected-goals-table-championship-17-jul-2020/www.infogol.net/en/leagues/english-football-league-championship-table-2019-20/151

We need to improve our away form, need to win 1/3rd of our away games at least, whilst having a good home record too.

Mate itโs that type of thinking that creates a stigma We have escaped what once seemed certain relegation with a brilliant effort in the main since MON came in He will have learnt so much in that time and I for one feel good about the future. Just give it s go ๐
