Now I'm not a religious person. However, as it is a Sunday and previously in our hour of need 'a Disciple' has come to the rescue in the past: MATTHEW(s) scored the goal which sealed the Championship in 62/63 PETER Dobing got the hatrick against Leeds staving off relegation in 68/69 PAUL Richardson came to the rescue with a late goal to seal promotion at Meadow Lane PAUL Mcguires amazing 4 goals versus Wolves saved the day in 1984 So today is it to be a Thomas Ince or a James McClean?

We don't need a disciple. A disciple is one who follows. We need a bloody minded leader, who will bollock when needed. We already have to many disciples. One has an off day, they all have an off day.

O’Neill needs to find a horrible bastard to play in midfield, regardless of which division we’re in next season. Someone who can lead, boss the opposition, and bollock the fannies in our team.

More likely that we would do better with our Joseph.
If only there were three wise men coming over the horizon to join him.

A bit of pedantry, but absolutely correct. What we actually need is a Messiah. The thing is we may have had one in Jones, but never realised it at the time.

As others have noted, it's not a Disciple you need, it's a Messiah.
Fortunately for you, you've found him.
"And his name is Michael!"
