Haven't been yet (might take the dogs a walk tomorrow afternoon) but the old Swan in Madeley heath is book for food but can just turn up for a drink, also got a massive marquee up for people to drink in as well.

So I’ll tell you my story of the first day since pubs opened. Started off at 2pm in Cask Bar Newcastle/Hartshill. Beer was diabolical, had to send it back and after 4 re runs it was finally palletable. Owner said it was because no beer had been through the lines although cleaned weekly. I imagine this was a common issue all over the country but still I let him off as all social distancing was in place, Perspex, sanitiser etc. All in all after the beer issue it was a pleasant enough experience. Onto the Greyhound Newcastle/Hartshill. Surprisingly very good. Filled out a form, sat down at a designated table and was served. Regular serving and no problem. One way system in place, no problem. Think they have it spot on here although I wouldn’t normally touch the place, alas beggars can’t be choosers! Next stop Red Lion ((Hartshill) The loud constant swearing was audible from down the road and once in it was obvious they’d just opened the pub like any other day. Sure they had blokes on the door but they weren’t really doing anything, still we queued up for a beer for about 15 mins before we decided we weren’t getting served. Absolutely diabolical, don’t bother going. It was rammed with young lads knocking drugs out🤷🏻♂️ Onto the Robin Hood (Hartshill) Recently taken over by Joules so expecting a half decent reception. It was quiet enough, met by the barmen who said sit down and I’ll be over to take your order. Ten minutes passed before I went to the bar to ask WTF was going on, he asked his young barmaid to take over. They had no lager, no ale and limited bottles. Oh and Guinness. Had a pint and fucked off because as time went by more people came in and I imagine as I sit at home now it’ll be carnage in there, it was full of chavs! All in all, had I gone home after the greyhound I would have considered it a success. As it is I imagine we will see some grim stories of violence and anti social behaviour in the morning👍🏻

I hate kids in pubs actually I hate kids in the supermarket ,on planes, at the cinema, in my local boulangerie...I could go on One of my mates favourite games at the supermarket is when a child asks their parent for something and they say no he immediately puts seven of them in his trolley and says its great being a grown up then walking off.

It was my 40th yesterday and my mates Mrs birthday today so we kinda thought let’s just see. My worst fears were confirmed but I just wanted to let fellow Oatcakers know my experiences so they can decide.

Searched the site but can not find a way of contacting Admin.
I have no objection to merging these two similar threads.
MAY BE THEY ARE ALL IN THE PUB. 🤪😄🥃🍺

Well today (Sun) I ha e been to two of my local pubs and had my first pint(s) for a few months.
Not to bad really. I was suprised that they were not that busy.
I have spent more money than I have for a long time, but it was quite good to see and socialise with people I had not seen for some time.
It could be that my attitude to going to the pub may have changed , will have to see how things pan out over the next few weeks and months.

I popped into the Farndon Arms, which is a village 3 miles from my house on Saturday eve. It wasn't rammed and it was good to get a couple of pints in.
BUT... you had to sign a book and leave your mobile, presumably so that they can contact you in the event of someone who was in there testing positive. I don't want to stay at home for another two weeks if that happens, so if that's the way it is I won't be going again.

If we ever get back to going to the match it will be difficult as always enjoy a couple before the game.
