Premier League newcomers Stoke City could be looking to sign some of the players involved in Euro 2008.
Director of football John Rudge is travelling to Austria and Switzerland this week to watch some games.
Rudge told BBC Radio Stoke: "We won't get anyone from the top sides but there may be a chance to attract one or two from the fringe countries."
The Potters have yet to make any new signings after winning promotion from the Championship
interesting...

Roughly translated
"We can't get anyone good, but some of them Romanian lads will work for sausage rolls so we might as well sign a couple"

another translation, 'rudgy could not make up his mind where to go for his holidays, so we have sent him to the euro's on the pretext of checking out players that we won't sign and it will keep him out of mischief for a few weeks' ;D

Good. Would you rather have romania's right back playing for us next season, or Andy griffin making a fat clown of himself again?

Nothing will come of it, if we were serious about signing someone Pulis himself would be there.

I thought we'd signed 3 up already last week, or didn't "imminent" make it to the Euro's

Sorry chaps, I was actually taking the piss out of Radio Stoke's 'exciting news'. I would be extremely shocked if we didn't have anyone covering the Euro's
As for TP, he is in Austin tonight watching the Aztex. Sorry if I mislead!
