He doesn't exactly sound hungry to move.
Not really the kind of attitude you want to see if you're considering a whopping fee and salary package on someone.
I'd be tempted to look elsewhere

From the person I know at the club, same person who said we were after Whelan last summer, and Viafara in January, to name just a couple
Nugent would not be my first choice I have to say.

Good prospect, fucking attitude problem he needs to remember where he came from to get to portsmouth. Season long loan up to stoke may well serve him well and see him develop. Go for eet

jurys out for me (regards Nugent,I'm not up on any kind of charge you know...)
what I will say is that Stoke, imho, will have to gamble on a couple of players & Nugent fits into that catorgary.

he would be an excellent signing considering he is better than what we have already and is a potential england squad member.
i also hate his attitude, but u can get relegated with decent blokes like griff or do well with tossers like nugent (wen on form)
im sure fullers attitude will prob stink for most of the week in training, love him still ;D

He has a great eye for goal and is a big bugger so would suit stoke.
HOWEVER, his comment that he would prefer to sit on the bench rather than join us or hull is disgraceful. Big headed dick, if TP can kick his ass into gear, sign him. Otherwise leave him at pompey to rot.

Ponta, you ask what he has actually done. It seems to me that he has failed to 'turn up' for a while and yet is still deemed to be worth £4M. No wonder he apparently has an attitude problem!
Incidentally, if he truly did say that about sitting on the bench and in effect 'doing a Bogarde', then no sane manager would touch him with a barge pole.

I still think Nugent is a good player who would be a great signing if we could get him. He's young, British and has talent.
Were there direct quotes saying that he would prefer to sit on the bench than join Stoke? Probably just taken out of context I would suspect if so.
At the end of the day the emphasis would be on us to persuade him to come. He would have to take a significant drop in wages and would be leaving an established prem team who has just won the FA cup for newly promoted predicted strugglers. If he has said he would prefer to fight for his place at Portsmouth rather than join us or Hull, this is no different than 99% of other players would do bearing in mind the circumstances.
If he isn't interested then lets go and get Dave Kitson instead. He should be able to do as good as job as Nugent and should be attainable for the fee and wages that we may have been prepared to splash on Nugent.

to be honest,im not sure who we are expected to buy whose better than him.as long as his heads right,i'd go for it. 4m,sadly,dosn't buy a 20 goal a season man.yes blackburn have found a couple, but unlike them,we cant gamble with untryed foreign players....can we?

I'd steer well clear of that twat Nugent. The guy's only motivation is his £35,000 a week wages. No wonder 'Arry wants rid of him, he's commanding that much in wages and is an average player. Tone should forget him, more so as he allegedly would rather rot on the bench at Pompey than join someone who would actually play him.
Forget him Tone. The guy has no determination to succeed at the Brit.

I would imagine the main reason why Nugent said he didn't want to join us or Hull is that he'd be worried that we'll both be relegated . Imo you can't really blame him for that . If TP does persuade him to come here though I would think that he'd bust a gut to keep us up so if he comes I for one would be happy .

he didn't say he won't join us or dull he said he won't be forced out of pompey and he's on 27,000 a week not 35,000 can hardly blame him for not wanting take say a 12,000 a week pay cut can ya
