I'm struggling to think of anything he got right. Nick Powell Tommy smith (at a push) Got rid of berahino. Beat Leeds. I'll add beat Leeds to my list.

Jones had no part, well, at a push, a 0,0000000001% part in Berahino's departure. First of all Saido did the damage himself, second lawyers employed by Peter Coates worked out the way to rid us of him, and some Belgian club took him away. The only part Jones did have was that he nodded when the chairman asked if he was agreeing with that course. Then I suppose he might have said something in interviews. I suppose you could say that Lindsay played a few good games for O'Neill, and Jones signed him, so he can claim he potentially signed a good player. You might say Hogan had a good goal ratio, but I never thought Jones signed him. And he agreed to let McClean leave for Nottingham Forest, but McCLean turned down the opportunity, which I'll regret for a long, long time.

Only because he got rid of Bojan, who is 10x the player. That alone outdoes the Powell signing tenfold. Who had done very little in last few months/year of his time with us, it was the right time for him to go.

Who had done very little in last few months/year of his time with us, it was the right time for him to go. He did very little, because the two managers in that time span both refused to play him. It wasn't the right time to leave - we would have been a better team with him in it - but he left and has moved on and is now as dedicated to his new club as he was to us. Unlike some who are still here.

Good old Benji manages to find the grey cloud to every silver lining. If Nathan is as "successful" in the remaining 9 games as Mark Hughes was in the 8 games when he "saved" Southampton, then Luton will be relegated. 1 point a game will usually keep a team in the same League position (which is what Southampton managed) but will not be enough for a team who are 6 points adrift of safety. A lot will depend on whether he still has his old Luton coaching staff available I’m actually very worried now it would be very worse to snatch defeat form the jaws of victory we can only lose by playing these remaining games and I’ve a very uneasy feeling we might do a stoke Two years ago we had our first relegation in 20 years. Now Mr Stoppedclock calls it doing a Stoke Ferfuxache 🙄

Personally I think Powell is far better suited to this league than Bojan was.
I loved Bojan here and he certainly should've had more game time, but I wouldn't trade Powell for him in a month of sundays.

Didn't post this at the time happened, but a mate of mine works close to John Coates office and when Nathan Jones approached what turned out to be his last few weeks of his time here, John was continually watching / listening to his pre / post match interviews everytime he passed by.

Do you mean he played them when Jones walked by in order to be a dick, or he was actually playing them all the time which your mate noted when he walked by?

Dedication isn't always enough, he needed a fresh start and from what I've seen he's doing okay, they didn't play him for a reason, I doubt its because he was ripping it up in training. Anyway this has all been said before, I sould have left it alone.

Can you really give a bloke credit for signing one of the leagues best central attacking midfielders? It’s not like he unearthed a gem from the Slovakian second division or something.
Powell had half the championship and Celtic after him. We got him because Uncle Pete / John got their wallet out.
Batth was probably his best signing (that he deserves credit for)

I loved Bojan here and he certainly should've had more game time, but I wouldn't trade Powell for him in a month of sundays. Bojan was just never the same after his injury. Some people just never learn. Bojan actually played his best football after his injury. It's been said over and over and over and over and over and over by many different persons, and yet there's always someone who thinks he knows better.

Let’s send him all his Stoke signings (apart from Powell) for the same money he wasted on them here He actually "wasted" very little, as most of them were frees.

Now Mr Stoppedclock calls it doing a Stoke Ferfuxache 🙄 Plenty of examples as those of us have endure them know . 2-0 at home to 10 men Leicester Countless last minute concessions Blowing the league by Losing the last three games at our peak Gillingham Hillsboro Palace away that last year Chelsea away our first year Stand blowing down Blythe Spartans , Telford , Nuneaton , Liverpool penaltys We are world experts at shooting ourselves in the foot

You are wrong (again), we didn't lose the last 3 games of that season either. After we lost at Sheffield Utd (which was no great shock as they finished level on points with us and were as good at home as we were), we drew the last 2 games. We still had 9 games left after we won at Derby. And just in case you were going to try with 1991/92, we didn't lose the last 3 games of that season either.

Fair enough we didn’t win any of the last three which what’s what cost us but I accept your correction of course

Do you think we're the only ones who've lost games in the last minute? Or lost FA Cup ties to non league sides? Really?
