Hi Guys , I hope you are all doing OK in these troubled times?
I am sure that you are both as concerned as I am about what is going to happen in the next few weeks and months not only for us at SCFC but for football in general.
There has has been so much talk about the advisability and possibilities on the WW Web and the Media about the restart of professional football at Prem Lge and Championship level that I thought you may like to know what I, a mere season ticket holder thinks about it.
The answer to my question is, and can be made quite complex. It could involve the structure of the football pyramid and how the excessive wealth of the elite few, and the PL in general, should be distributed throughout the entire structure. Or it could be just simplified and the question asked ; What should we do ?
Well as a simple Season Ticket Holder and supporter for as many years as you Peter I can only say that as much as I would like to, I have no intention of attending any games at the 365 for the foreseeable future. This is not due to disloyalties but for self preservation for myself, my family and my neighbours.
This season should be scrapped and forgotten about. Restart next season when it is safe to do so.
As far as my current season tickets outstanding games are concerned you are welcome to keep the money but please allow me to renew my seat(s) when this mess is all over.
Thanking You and appreciating you both
Ray

I was typing with the benefit of fine weather and a glass or two of Red wine taken to early in the back garden. 🙂

as above not fussed on a refund if null and void, however if they start trying to play behind closed doors and offer me a stream in place of my seat at a game i wont hesitate to ask for a refund, i dont pay to watch it on a screen
its so weird but the idea is repulsive to me

Thanks for clarifying it! Football without fans is just right and will open the door to empty grounds permanently

Football without fans is just right and will open the door to empty grounds permanently I don't see why it will lead to permanently empty grounds. Think the opposite will happen. Can see crowds flocking back when the all clear given. If folk are waiting 3 hours for a bloody KFC like yesterday then football will be well supported as being missed by so many. Am not for the season being finished behind closed doors, personally this late in the year would rather see the season abolished and start when all clear but easy for us to say that.

Can see the CL going ahead for obvious reasons £££ . Be interesting to see how the Bundesliga turns out as will certainly be a benchmark perhaps.

What does TV want? amongst other things they wanted full stadiums of colourful fans, not empty seats

What does TV want? amongst other things they wanted full stadiums of colourful fans, not empty seats True, but they're unlikely to get it, unless by some miracle some genius soon finds a way of inoculating us. I've just posted on another thread how they might show all games live with a restricted crowd present - depending on how far the restrictions might be lifted in the coming months.

(not having a go by the way)

Why would anybody want to watch a game of football on TV without crowds there?
An absolutely pointless spectacle.

You want to be on here pre season and see how many people are after streams for pointless friendlies. Plenty would watch it. Don’t worry about that. I’m for null and voiding the season NOW btw.

To be fair there will still be a clamour for the absolute football nuts which there are plenty, but me personally? I just don't see the point in it. I'm all for finishing the season off if it was possible to do so properly, but that's becoming apparent that it can't, well certainly not without disrupting next season anyway, so I'm not sure what the answer is. Competitive football behind closed doors definitely isn't the answer and to be honest, I don't give a fuck about Premier League football clubs in all this, they will survive if there was no football played for another 12 months. It's all the lower league clubs that the footballing authorities should be sorting out before we get the Premier League going, but I suppose money talks. It's a joke in my opinion that it's even up for consideration and that's before you touch on all the Health and Safety aspects of it.
