It was a pretty grim season. There was a real danger of the season spiralling into relegation, and a mid week win over Watford started a revival.

Home from decent enough to ensure mid table nothingness. Twitter replies suggest there was no season review... unsurprisingly. In that case... anyone with better search engine skills than me... can you unearth footage of Carl Beeston's winner at Portsmouth in November 1994? I'm sure I've seen it once but can't now locate it...

On the pitch, there was no sign of the play off season we were about to enjoy the following year. The Portsmouth away game was noticeable not only for a rare away win and a rare Beeston goal, but also “commentary” provided by George Andrews. When Carl’s late winner went in, you could sense the disappointment in his voice.

They didn't release the full season, just a VHS of about a dozen or so games including the 4-1 win over Southend and 3-2 over Charlton. I think the 4-3 Millwall game is on there too and the 3-2 on the final day at Luton. There's no Portsmouth season review listed on FootyDVD for that season either.
I can't ever remember seeing Beeston's goal unless it was on Central News the following night. Then again I didn't think we'd ever see Dreyer's injury time equaliser at Burnley and it's just popped up on YouTube!

Not as much as the excitement in his voice when he thought Portsmouth had equalised late on Funny how that sticks in the mind of so many all these years later

I remember a bloke stopping him from getting punched when we were relegated as giving loads in the Waddo suite and he had to be ejected. Pre season he was trying to get into the hospitality tent at Newcastle Town as obviously not invited and asked me if I had an extra ticket.I did but as if was going to give it to him. He was all 'come on mate' etc

Best part of that season was beating WBA 4-1 when Lou returned. Dull though it was we were handily placed at Chrimbo. We won at Tranmere and a play off place looked possible.
