With defending like that it’s amazing to think we were in a relegation battle in the first place.

I remember when the first throw in was awarded loads of Man City fans jumping out of our crowd and running for their own fans. Three folk in front of us thought it was Stoke fans rushing at Man City and decided they'd join in so it was 3 v 5000 daft bastards Southall, Pickering, Heath, Sigurdsson, Tweed, Keen, Forsyth, Wallace, Thorne, Lightbourne (Taaffe 57), Kavanagh Aside from Southall being too fat to move and Tweed being absolutely wank there surely should have been enough in that side stay up. I loathed Nathan Jones abomination of a team far more than these.

It was funny that we fought on & off the pitch, but still both went down

In the event I thought there were fewer Man City fans in our areas than we were led to expect or popular culture would have you believe.
I must admit I was fractionally disappointed with the whole occasion :-)

I’m not condoning this but the Man City fans who bought tickets in the home ends got the fright of their lives that day.
Also after the match so many Man City cars were getting bricked it was crazy.

Someone Man C fans got attacked a couple of rows in front of me and my kids, they shouldn't have been there but the attack was thuggery of the lowest kind that stained our clubs reputation for many years

I remember a Man City fan who ran the Wheatsheaf in onnelly boasting in the sentinel about buying tickets in the home areas. I recall there was concern that the Sentinel was heightening the atmosphere in the wrong way before the game. I saw the Man City fans getting pointed out by Stoke supporters in the home areas, and a few manc lads around me started to take off their Man City badges off their jackets. The game at one point (2-4) had a surreal atmosphere played at a pre season friendly pace, as other scores filtered in and it became hopeless for both sides. The trouble outside made the national TV news that evening.

The trouble outside made the national TV news that evening. He ran one of the regional Man City fan clubs. He was a bit of an arse to be fair. Had the KIPPAX plate on his car Was some Man City fans in the Waddington suite and their table was tipped over. They didn't help themselves but was getting a bit toxic . One of those idiots from Oasis actually got a minder to remove the lady who sold the lottery tickets from the Sky Box.

Shocking mismanagement of the club at both board level and team level

Did Man City fly a banner over the stadium that day? Yes im sure they did. Crazy day. Sitting in the boothen watching some man city fan getting slapped about when they scored. A day of chaos and misery. Shame they didnt give Durban more games instead of the 5 he had to save our bacon.

We’ve all probably bought tickets for the wrong end before now as the only way to see a game and if you respect the fact you’re in the wrong end and don’t give it the big un, there’s normally no bother even if you get sussed. Before this game their fans were all over the Oatcake forum and their own saying how they were going to come to the Brit and take the place over and sit where they wanted and shout what they wanted. They got their comeuppance. BM

I was one of the daft sods queuing for the bus outside the away end. Bricks flying all over the show. I was in the same queue after the 7 nil thraping by Brum too.
What a crap season that was.

I was asked, in the Boothen, if I was a Stoke fan! Fucking vile day!

Not that it takes a lot of searching on Youtube, but their is CCTV footage from the Stadium cameras that day of the fans making for the away end as the goals went in, and pockets of fighting all over.
Guessing that it was uploaded footage used for convictions.

I mean, I know I constantly rip him for that magical performance against Birmingham but let's not forget this pearly 90 minutes.
Steven Tweed ladies and gentlemen..... And some daft shits still rip into Wollscheid... Fuck me, worlds apart.

My only memory of Tweed (other than him being none to clever) was him clearly a handling a goal bound shot against Vale and the ref missing it.
Was a rare good day that season as we won 2-1 with Keen grabbing a nice winner. In fact it capped a good weekend as England had drawn in Rome the night before to qualify for the World Cup.
