Loved the guy but he did cost us our premiership place with his sending off v Everton ( that twat Rooney didnt help) and that pen miss against Brighton. Yep, the only two mistakes made by any player in what was otherwise an excellent season. Shame on you Charlie.

If VAR had been in place that would have been a second penalty as well, he was clearly fouled for rebound. if VAR existed it wouldn’t have been a penalty in the first place as Jesé dived

He had a great 2010-11 season and a decent few years for us but his last four years here were mostly rubbish.
In that relegation season he made a number of mistakes. Not just the Everton red card or the Brighton penalty miss (too unfit to get to the rebound) but giving the ball away against Newcastle or that substitution effort against Leicester where he seemed determined to be sent off.
And yeah most of the players were awful in that season. But there is a theme of the British players like Johnson, Adam, Fletcher getting away with it because we had rubbish foreign players too.
And his going onto the radio to talk about our transfer prospects really left a bad taste in my mouth. The criticism of Shaqiri after his contributions in that season was laughable.
Elsewhere you could count from 2015-16 onwards good performances on one hand

I always preferred Vaughan in their Blackpool days. Some quality goals for us. Just another odd signing really from TP, he just doesn't strike you as the sort of player TP would have a clue what to do with and so it proved. I actually saw quite a few Blackpool games during their promotion season. Their midfield of Southern, Vaughan and Adam had a fantastic balance - a sitter, a runner and a playmaker. They also played three up front which gave Adam plenty to aim for. Their defence got exposed in the Premier League but for 18 months or so they were a joy to watch.

He's just not my cup of tea and never was. But I won't sit here and say he was shit or anything, far from it. He's clearly a very talented footballer and I think that just pissed me off even more with him and the bullshit he'd do. All counteracted by some marvellous goals, Hollywood balls when they worked etc.

I didn't realise until just now that the Adam/Brighton incident and the Butland brain fart at Leicester were in consecutive games.
Four points pissed away which would have seen us stay up and Southampton go down.

The 4 v 1 attack v Spurs when Diouf somehow managed to pass it to their player The Burnley miss was the moment it sank in
