30 years today ago our flapping twitching corpse was finally put out of it’s misery when relegation was confirmed with our tepid submission at Newcastle. Bleakness.

Swindle Town.

was at St James for that one
Blake & Berry played with pride & commitment, the rest waved the white flag disgraceful performance
Alan Ball was a world class player & by all accounts a fantastic fellow who really loved football however he is the worst manager we have ever had (which is saying something) the only manager to have a had a side relegated form all four divisions (some divisions more than once), how he got the Man City job beggars belief

I remember Stoke playing in a kit that resembled items rescued from a charity shop. I remember disorder at Derby station. The somber silence as the train slowed for Stoke station, and fans staring at the Victoria Ground from the carriages in quiet contemplation.

Was that the same season we beat Newcastle at home on Boxing Day when Beeston scored a late thumper in front of the Boothen?

A few of us in a horrible pen at Ayresome Park, really was a horrible ground

And it was fucking freezing. We ended up very very relegated, not like 1998 or 2018 where a few crucial mistakes/moments made all the difference.

Seem to remember the game that nailed on our relegation was a 1-2 loss home to Oxford. We again out played them then a late very dubious dive got them a pen...was Mark Stein. They scored again straight after One thing I remember re Boro was some child abuse case and kids had been taken off their parents ( shouldn't really laugh) but chants from the Stoke fans all through the game of 'We've got your children'.
